Best way I've found is socialise with as many circles as you can and you will meet women in low pressure environment like that. Also get drunk if you are awkward lol works for me anyway but don't get soo drunk you start being a dick, just enough to feel relaxed.

Small talk doesnt come naturally to me, even among other guys. Unless Im drunk or have known someone for YEARS a conversation with me consists of me nodding my head and saying things like "yeah...ok...cool...nice...yah" until they go away.

I'm fully capable of meeting a girl on my own, I just am a fan of online dating because it gives you a chance to cut out all the bullshit and prescreen for crazys. Currently dating a girl I met on OkCupid and she's pretty awesome.

Yeah, I'm absolutely not a smooth talkin' kinda guy in most situations, more likely to start boring everyone in earshot over-analyzing things, and still the only successful relationships I've had the girl has approached me (or at least hinted strongly - I also don't pick up on flirting that quickly ).
As in a lot of situations in life the correct posture is to not give a fuck. I hadn't had luck with OkCupid and had given up on online dating. Back on Mother's day I was visiting my mom and while she was puttering in the garden I borrowed her computer. Since she doesn't have AdBlock installed I happend to see an ad for this new dating site 'HowAboutWe'. Not having anything better to do for the next half hour or so I signed up spent pretty much the smallest amount of effort making a profile and posting a couple date ideas, the whole schtick of the site being 'post dates you want to go on so that you meet people who want to do the same things'. Got offline, didn't think a thing about it for a couple days till a got an alert email from them: '[SomeGirl] has said she's intrigued by your date!'. So now, already knowing she's at least a little interested and what she'd enjoy doing, I can ask her out with confidence, get her number and see what shall be. First actual attractive girl who's ever initiated contact on a dating site too, at least for me.

I have a fiance now but in the past I've always just waited for the girls to talk to me. I have a cute smile so I use that to get girls. I smile at them and then they eventually come over and say hello. It seems like its better that way too because then you know they are really into you and not just saying yes because they don't want to be rude.

but the thing is I even have a hard time talking to guys and making other male friends. It's not like I act differently cuz they have a vagina.
