go beyond even that
i think i know what you're talking about - a sense of awareness almost like a blob that can become formless when identification with form ceases. but i think it's beneficial to not identify with this awareness either, let go of even that.
reminds me of the heart sutra: gate gate paragate parasamgate bodhi svaha! gone, gone, gone beyond, gone totally beyond, enlightenment svaha!
if that's not what you're talking about then ignore this

what do you mean identify? this shit is so hard to talk about
an experience of no limits describes it, yet had I not experienced it the phrase would be meaningless, and if I had experienced it but described it with different words, the phrase would still be meaningless.
one thing about it is that emotion seems to change character

perhaps emotion as a reprensentation of feelings in the body, when not confined to the body can expand so far as to be not dense but light.
oh this language is frustrating if I read this in a book it would be instantly marked as bs

i meant like a subtle clinging that remains ... but you're right it's very hard to talk about and isn't really conveyed with the literal meaning of identify / clinging. but it sounds like you're "going beyond" which is awesome
what's neat about this is that nothing is going on, yet at the same time you can't say nothing is going on as there's still the subtle awareness of there being nothing to be aware of. it neither is nor is not, or something - very peaceful
though like all experiences - conveying it is seemingly impossible. i'm really not sure if we're talking about the same thing or not

I don't. Please educate me.
-------------------- "People convince themselves of their own lies, becoming victims of their own inventions as they begin to direct their lives by standards of behavior, ideas, feelings, or instincts which do not correspond to their inner reality. What is truly serious in this matter is that the individual loses all points of reference regarding what comprises truth, and what comprises lies. He becomes used to considering as true only that which is convenient for his personal interests; everything that is in opposition to his self-esteem or in conflict with already established prejudices, he considers false."

This makes me think of dreaming.
I almost always feel so expansive in my dreams, even though they supposedly take place within my own head. Moments flow together effortlessly, emotions can change the entire dreamscape on a whim...it's beautiful.
However I do seem to recall that the sky in my dreams is nearly always black like the inside of my eyelids, even when my personal dream sun is "shining". Strange.
Sorry if this has nothing to do with your thread.

So whats beyond that? Or is it one of those things you keep quiet about? The first rule of Enlightenment club, is you don't talk about Enlightenment club, or something like that?

i'm far from enlightened, but i'd say a peace free from all discursiveness

It's simpler if you see awareness as a liquid substance. You can fill your body with it, you can fill the entire room with it, you can fill the town, the country, the planet, the solar system, the galaxy... beyond. Then you can open the door without door. and go further. bodhi svaha! You see you are this liquid, pouring through the center of all creation - the body you call your own. You're the creative force that made this universe. The sphere where the circumference is nowhere and the center everywhere. It's all made out of you. You are That! Eat my flesh, drink my blood, it's all you've ever eaten! Look for god! Where is 'he'? So funny, you actually can't know anything, except god. All you've ever known, even you yourself. Involve the mind and it's all gone. That's exactly the function of the mind. It's made to create the separation, just like a douche nozzle. There's no oneness through mind's thought. Which makes this text completely ridiculous because the mind is what is perceiving it. Hail the doer.

If I get you correctly, the only way to know if the experience is meaningless would be to...

at first i disagreed with your first sentence, don't see awareness as anything, nobody can tangibly 'see awareness' as anything
but generally awesome post & awesome analogy with the shower head, im gonna use that one
we are both god, so its not really stealing

thoughts too can go beyond the body and be freed from identification with it, i find that this allows for better management and upkeep of the body. And indeed, it is through paying more and more attention to "I am" that this occurs
