First Time Pick, ID Needed
    #16392852 - 06/17/12 02:30 AM (1 year, 2 days ago)

Habitat: Forest, melbourne, australia..it was growing next to a fallen tree, out of the ground.

Quick photo after pick

The habitat it grew in.

As well as these ones

All from the same area.

These are leaving purple spore prints behind on the paper.

Any help will be highly appreciated.

Thanks,
IJST8U =D

They didn't really have any bruising at all when we pinched them, is it possible to screw that up?
When we spore printed them it was a purple-black pattern if thats of any help?

Also noob question, what exactly is an inactive mushroom?

Thanks for all your help!

I don't see any bluing whatsoever in the first picture.

If you're not sure they are bluing, they aren't. It is so obvious when it happens.

Different species I've photographed here, but your gills should look like this with just the slightest amount of handling

An 'in-active' mushroom will not make you trip (aka - its not magic).

Those mushrooms ^ are inactive. Dont eat them.

If you are looking for 'magic mushrooms', you will need to look up 'Psilocybe Subaeruginosa' on google and read about where they grow, what time of year, and any other details you will need to know.

So how can you tell the difference whether its inactive or active?
So if we picked others is there a chance that they're active if theyre exactly the same but from a different spot but same general area?

Thanks again.

Look for Psilocybe Subaeruginosa, they are the only active mushrooms you will find.

Psilocybe Subaeruginosa will bruise blue, have purple spore prints, and well they will look exactly like Psilocybe Subaeruginosa haha

Is that Psilocybe Subaeruginosa? Looks familiar in my opinion, but then again I don't quite know what I'm looking for.

We need to see more pictures. One of the underside (gills) and the stem would be perfect.

What state are you located in mate ?

Those are inactive. Notice how there isnt ANY bluing.

since you live in melbourne, you are looking for Psilocybe Subaeruginosa, the only magic mushroom in your area. Read about it and what habitat you need to look in to find them, then go and have a look.

I see ABSOLUTELY no bruising! Asking more times won't change it.
