Look how big those freaking talons are. They're massive. I lived up in remote Wyoming (well I guess 98% of WY is remote actually) for a couple of years for work and had to drive into the vast nothingness every sunrise -- and I must had seen over a hundred eagles during those years. Most of them of the Golden Eagle variety. And dude, they are indeed freaking huge.
One day I was driving into town and spotted something on top of a telephone pole from like a 200 yards away...it looked like a damn medium sized dog on top of a pole. Then I got closer and realized it was an eagle.

haha yeah dude, some of them can have wingspans of well over 1 metre+++. and really as a human we have no defence against an eagle whos going to swoop in at 40mp/h and just rip us to shreds with its talons. even when shitty little crows and normal birds swoop at humans, theres nothing we can really do. even though they can't hurt us or anything its still a bit terrifying to be swooped by birds. now imagine that while being swooped by giant ass eagles with 3 inch talons . eagles are great though. they're one of my favourite animals

Yeah I agree, they are phenomenal animals. When I saw my first wild bald eagle, it was really an amazing moment that I will never forget.

Dude that's awesome that you got to see that. I bet that shit was intense. And no doubt, there's something to that whole eye to eye thing. I wasn't close enough to see any in the wild like that but I've been to an animal conservation place for grizzly bears and wolves recently -- and they had a bald eagle that they were nursing back to health. I was like 4 feet away from him. They'll look you right in the eyes...shit's crazy. Kind of hypnotizing.
