I just bought a sterlite container that is 20qt and put tons of holes in it with my solder iron. Now is it possible to put to many holes in it? And do I really need a light. I thought I would just let it sit there in my room and not have to worry about a light

There are definitely issues with there being too many holes in your SGFC. Too many holes will lower your humidity. This is why those tek's recommend you space your 1/4 inch holes 2 inches apart. I know this from straight experience. I too had way too many holes with my first FC.
You will definitely need indirect light of some sort. I think the most recommended is a 6500k natural light ( I purchased mine from walmart for like 12 bucks? ) You can also place your chamber near a window for natural light.

Tho when fruiting, direct light is ideal.

I had a few very successful sgfc grows without a light- I had my sgfc in my closet, with one door open, and my windows' blinds were open a little bit. Indirect light- they grew fine
