 Tommy Chong using pot to treat prostate cancer

(CBS News) Comedian-actor Tommy Chong has revealed he has prostate cancer.
Chong, part of the comedy duo "Cheech and Chong," told CNN on Saturday that doctors diagnosed him about a month ago.
Chong said his cancer is a "slow stage one" that he's had for "a long time. "
The marijuana-loving Chong announced the news in an interview about decriminalizing marijuana use and sales.
"I've got prostate cancer, and I'm treating it with hemp oil, with cannabis," Chong, 74, said. "So [legalizing marijuana]means a lot more to me than just being able to smoke a joint without being arrested."
Chong said he initially saw symptoms eight years ago, while he was behind bars for selling drug paraphernalia. During that period, he was drug-free for three years, he said.
"So I know it had nothing to do with cannabis," he told CNN. "Cannabis is a cure."
Chong said nowadays he doesn't smoke marijuana -- instead he ingests the hemp oil "at night, so I won't be woozy all day. I'm taking it as a medicine."
Chong and his acting partner, Cheech Marin, rose to fame in the early 1970s with a series of comedy albums, leading up to their 1978 film, "Up in Smoke." Chong had a recurring role on "That '70s Show," and last year voiced a part in the animated feature, "Hoodwinked Too! Hood vs. Evil."

It's almost as if CBS stole this from CNN or something, since he was quoted from CNN twice in such a small article.

that's dumb. prostate cancer is easily curable. hopefully he realizes this before it's too late and doesn't pull a steve jobs

Pretty rude shit going on in this thread.
Nothing wrong with wanting to give hemp oil a try. I imagine if it works Tommy will be able to help prove or disprove it (although not outright).
There is no place in the world at the moment like California in terms of cannabis production numbers and quality not to mention market diversity and overall $$ income from cannabis.

Actually the vast majorities of prostate cancer goes away without any treatment. Hence why we have such high survival rates.
Actually, it is being recommended that we stop giving PSA tests because of the number of false positives and tumors that don't need aggressive chemo.
Lastly, Cannabis is the closest we will ever get to a cure for cancer. More effective and almost infinitely safer than chemo.

According to the article he thinks the Prostate cancer started while he was in Jail. So he was sober. There is no report that said, if you have cancer smoke weed and it will be gone. Its much more complicated than that. Also weed has only been shown to slow down or shrink the size of certain tumors, not all cancer. I'm sure he lives in Cali, so getting his medicine shouldn't be to hard.
