One of the major costs of war today is that many soldiers come back with PTSD. This contributes to a higher mortality rate among those who have served in war. Even if they dont kill themselves it still takes billions of dollars in rehabilitation services.
as far as the other arguments, its hard to become a cop, ive seen how hard it is (though still not hard enough in my opinion). and its hard to be a cop, they have to kill people too. Someone very close to me is a police officer who has killed in the line of duty, after some assholes thought it would be a good idea to open fire on people as they drove down the streets in their SUV.
I couldnt be a police officer, but I respect them. The majority truly want to protect civilians, even if its for a paycheck, and most would do so with their lives.

"The White House's former counterterrorism coordinator blasts President Bush in a television interview and a new book, saying the president ignored warnings about terrorist attacks before 9/11 and has done "a terrible job" battling terrorism since then. "Frankly, I find it outrageous that the president is running for re-election on the grounds that he's done such great things about terrorism," Richard Clarke told CBS' "60 Minutes" in an interview Sunday night. "He ignored it. He ignored terrorism for months, when maybe we could have done something to stop 9/11. Maybe. We'll never know." Well I'm not only one making the accusation many people seem to. We know a few things for sure people accuse Him of ignoring shit and he likes to cut a lot of brush.
"Since the early days of his presidency, Bush has spent time cutting and clearing brush on his ranch. Many have asked variations of the question, "Isn't that brush all clearedyet?" "

So how does one spend do much time doin broke back mountain stuff and at the same time do a good job at the most important job America has to offer? You should know the answer to a question like this.
Quote:
The firewall that Jamie Gorelick set uop between the CIA and the FBI while she was in Clinton's administration. They weren't allowed to coordinate information because one was domestic and the other was foreign
You know what your right I agree, let's split the blame, how does 20/80 Clinton/Bush sound?

I am good friends with cops and I disagree with you. My one friend got super stressed out from the things he saw. I dont feel sorry for him though because he choose that line of work and new what was coming.
There are many good cops and many bad. And if they were held accountable for their actions I would have a lot less to complain about. That said, as Zappy refuses to see is that we still need a police force or all hell would break loose.
