Point by Point
- Crew get put to sleep in cryo for two years without most of them even knowing what the job is going to be!?
- They are going because some shit matches up on cave paintings to some random star cluster in some distant fucking galaxy!?
- Two men get left behind on the planet, they are scared shitless but when meeting an alien want to be its friend and some shit thinking that nothing will possibly go wrong!?
- Android randomly infects a crew member for no apparent reason (psychotic android? Who the fuck knows?
- A state of the art surgical table in Weylands daughters room was for some reason only programmed to operate on men!? (Or was it a pro-life fucking computer or some hit)?
- After the fucking surgery she just runs around the ship like nothing has even fucking happened, even though she has a head full of drugs and shit and tells no one about the fucking alien she just removed from her womb!?
- They wake the fucking engineer so the audience is all primed for some fucking answers, but the engineer says absolutely NOTHING and proceeds to just murder almost everyone, offering NO ANSWERS at all.
- Captain takes it that this shit is going down and just flies his goddamn ship directly into the other ship without a moments fucking hesitation? REALLY?
- Bitch left at the end now wants to 'continue her search for truth' to the planet of the engineer who just tried to fucking murder her and all humanity instead of getting the fuck back home like any rational person would and apparently there are other ships that SOMEHOW the android just knows about for some fucking reason that no one knows?
SERIOUSLY THIS MOVIE FUCKING SUCKED IN EVERY CONCEIVABLE WAY A SCI-FI PLOT, SCRIPT CAN POSSIBLY SUCK.
I hate the anti-art-movie hollywood whore that Ridley has become.
Totally illogical plot with more holes than a martian whore.
No characters anyone could possibly give a shit about or believe were real people.
Appalling script that a teenage gas station clerk could have come up with.
No answers to any questions posed and no character resolution other than moronic deaths that the morons deserve or just totally illogical bullshit that no one could understand.
In essence, FUCK PROMETHEUS! I want me goddman money back RIDLEY!
I could go on for hours about the ways this movie was so much fail. But I won't.

Well, it sure has a couple of plot holes. Far from enough to ruin it though. If a carefully crafted, realistic plot is all you're after, why are you watching a science fiction horror film?

I listed only SOME of the plotholes in this movie and plotholes are by no means the only things utterly wrong about this movie.
FYI Alien and Aliens did not have any of these faults.

Yeah this film was fucking disappointing. Sloppy scripts piss me off so much.

Didn't read it because I don't want to spoil the movie.
But all these critiques and reviews are lowering my expectations.
For the better.
I'm sure I'll love the movie.

Haters. I thought it was awesome. There were a couple problems but overall it was an awesome watch.

Just go see it for yourself man. LIke I said before one thing I have learned in my 27 years is to not
trust peoples movie reviews. If anyone was expecting it to be a classic like Alien well then shame on
them for being ignorant.
The movie itself is beautiful and I think Prometheus was just a setup movie for the next one.

Also that scientist guy was a complete douche bag and his life (or anyone elses) in the grand scheme
did not matter. They came to find answers about human creation nothing else.
They could have went a little deeper with certain aspects of the movie but it wasnt enough to ruin it
whatsoever. I would give it a solid 8/10. It touches on many possible questions we have today about were
we came from, if have we been visited and have they played a role in or advance and was visually stunning.

All you can say about this movie is that it is visually stunning. Its not enough to ask the questions, a movie like this must attempt to answer at least *some* of the fundamental questions posed otherwise it does not serve as anything more than an empty canvas or fulfill anything more than the trailer, which this movie did not.

You sound like a person that needs to be fed the answer without using your mind to fill
in certain holes. Thats half the fun about watching movies like this because people can take away
what they want from it. You are spending too much time getting all mad and intense about something
that is completely objective.
There will no doubt be more to this story and thats another thing that is so good in my opinion
in that its almost like a giant build up for the next film. Its not a perfect movie but its damn good.
Maybe you should look forward to the next transformers oor something. I heard battleship was good

All the movie IS is a giant set up for a next movie. No original thought was put into this movie at all. Its just a hook for the next Ridley scott, Lost series esque series of movies. He has compiled a lot of cliche thriller narrative together with HUGE plotholes to make a nice swiss cheese movie. Cheap hollywood money making, franchise building, derivative, plot devoid, philosophical depth devoid, blank canvas with two dimensional stupid characters and vapid script to boot. The intro with the Engineer rapidly disintegrating from swallowing DNA twisting slime is a perfect metaphor for how the movie twists the DNA of the previous Alien movies and rapidly disintegrates to create new life for Ridley's bank account.
I don't mind leaving questions unanswered in a movie, especially a *few* nuggets to *hint* at a sequel, but making a movie devoid of ANY answers in order to feed into a sequel without standing on its own two feet, is not a movie, its an anti-movie commercial extended trailer for a sequel.
Filling in plotholes is not the responsibility of the viewer, its the artistic privilege of the director and producer.

 I liked it. The plot holes definitely were not enough to ruin it. I'd give it a 7/10. I'd definitely watch it again.

He hasn't made a classic since Gladiator (even that's a stretch). Why would you expect one here? Went in with no expectations and enjoyed it well enough.
