A buddy of mine refuses to try marijuana because he claims that it will kill him. He seems to be aware that nobody in recorded history has ever died directly from the use of marjiuana, but his reasoning is that he has a heart condition which causes his heart to beat at an extremely slow rate. I believe he said something to the effect of "My doctor says if I ever smoke weed it will stop my heart." I didn't wanna be the one to kill him on the off chance that he was totally right, so I pretty much backed off after that. (just to be clear, I don't ever pressure my friends, but I will always ask if they wanna try because it's just polite, at least to other stoners  ). Now, I'm still pretty convinced that either he is just saying that so he doesn't seem like a wuss for not wanting to get stoned, or whoever told him that was probably not being honest, and just wanted to scare him straight. Is there any truth to this claim?

Marijuana increases your heart rate. If anything it'll probably correct his body like WEED DOES NATURALLY haha although their are some people out thier who cant smoke weed even if they want to. a buddy of mine had a FREAK OUT and now hes kinda fucked up he gets haunted by the feeling like hes going to die appparently :s

S'true, weed cures what ails ya'. I smoke for hangovers, nausea, stress, etc. I think he is just being silly, or his crazy conservative parents crammed a bunch of lies down his throat. When he figures out the truth he'll probably turn into the biggest stoner too, just out of spite.

Marijuana definitely has effects on the cardiovascular system. If your friend has a heart problem its possible that marijuana could be a real risk.
