This is my first monotub grow and I've already made a lot of mistakes so I actually amazed that it's coming along as well as it has (I've only done the PF tek previously). I'll start with a brief summery of this grow:
Inoculation of 3lb rye bag with about 4ml of spores. Bag colonized about 50% in first 4 weeks and then stalled completely (no growth for about two weeks). I suspected bacteria since it was in a very hot room for one weekend and began to smell just a bit off. I threw out the bad half of the bag and broke up the colonized portion into a 70/30 coir/verm mix. It recolonized (mostly) but started pinning before it looked 100%. About a week after the pinning began, I moved it into fruiting. I had not been misting because the humidity had always been between 90-100%. Two days ago I misted the substrate directly and then fanned it really good. About three hours later, I noticed nearly the entire surface had turned blue-green and I panicked. This morning when I checked on it most of the mycelium had turned back to white and/or a dull green/blue color.
So my question is: did I just end up bruising the mycelium due to aggressive misting/fanning and it's recovering or did an episode of Trich break out and it's just slowly losing it's spores/color?

From here it is hard to tell but I would venture to guess that it is only
bruising.
You will know for sure soon enough.
I'm not sure how aggressive one would need to be to cause the top
of the monotub to bruise. Seems that it would be unlikely to bruise
but to me that color looks like bruising. Conflicting but that's all I got.

I've never seen Trich contamination yet so I figure I'll learn something either way. The fact the the color has been fading instead of spreading over the last couple days seems like positive news (it was very dark just two days ago). I'd feel a lot better if it had fully colonized, but it's too late to turn back now. There's also about 20 developed pins throughout the tub so it'd be sad to lose it.

Great news! Seems colonized to me. Happy that it was not trich though.

Trich starts out as white specks, and then turns green from the center (older) areas out.
Thats only bruising; for sure.

yeah I'd say bruising. trich (for me) was a lot denser and your myc looks more whispy

Thanks for the reassurance! The color has almost gone back to white over the past few days and the the number of growing pins has exploded from about 10 to 60. I'm very excited this has worked after screwing up so much of the process. Those little things must be harder to kill than I thought.
