Morrowind was a more open experience. There was so much diversity and new things you could do in the game, it was very creative and unique especially for it's time. All of this died down over the following two games, Oblivion and Skyrim. Not to mention Skyrim's quests suck ass, they are all the same and take no skill and aren't fun. Oblivion was pretty cool, it had some different concepts and things you could lolligag about for hours on end in the game and had sweet quests which were mostly all unique. They half assed Skyrim and it's apparent (besides the obvious upgrade in graphics and some added features) although I really like Skyrim's leveling system I think every game they come out with should have every feature the previous game had just upgraded, and then add some more on top. The fact that I can just run around and screw with the environment/NPC's and do so many things in game is what makes it fulfilling to me, not the damn graphics. Thanks Bethesda for making me wait 5 years so you could upgrade some damn graphics while dramatically decreasing gameplay quality. You can't do shit in Skyrim that you could in Oblivion or Morrowind. also all of the damn mountains suck ass trying to get over/around. I just hope they get their shit together during the next game or I'm done with the TES series, I can find a better game to spend my money and time on.

lol, can't say I've experienced BF3 on anything, but I imagine that shit would be pretty overwhelmingly intense.

I found Morrowind and Oblivion to be extremely boring. I really gave them a shot but there was just no direction to Morrowind and Oblivion was the same shit over and over. I feel like I have more control of my character in Skyrim and the map+clairvoyance helps with figuring out where the fuck I should be going. I also find the battles to be more interesting and magic is actually useable. Crushing the click button to mash stuff just gets old fast. The mountains aren't really that bad. You just look at the map and figure out where the path through them is. Standing on top of the mountain and getting a view of the landscape is pretty dope. All around a good game. Worth the $35.
Beware that the PS3 version apparently was a bad port and there is some memory issue later in the game for many users which causes it to lag to the point of unplayability. Bethesda "claims" they fixed it but who knows for sure. This didn't really bother me and I have experienced no issues thus far although I've only played for like a week.

Spot on, you can see how dumbed down and easier they get over the years. Oblivion and skyrim was fun, really fun but soo so easy, especially skyrim, killing dragons in 3 hits gets boring.

 That's definitely true. The stun dual spell casting + high elf mana regen power = owned. Whenever I hear "dragon" I think o0 free exp and shitty dragon scales.
