You are literally the first person I've ever heard of that hasn't seen that movie.
It's excessively violent and incredibly awesome. One of the best WWII movies ever made. Everything about the movie is just pure badass. Lets put it this way, when we went to see it in theaters, my friends grandpa who was a WWII vet that was there on Normandy had to walk out because he was getting such intense flashbacks. The VA even had to set up a help line for vets that saw the movie and freaked out. That's how powerful and realistic it is.
And then I suggest following that up with the mini series Band of Brothers. Best show ever made.

That doesn't even do it justice. It was probably the most epic opening scene ever made. Just plain brutal. It really showed how miserable and totally crazy that war was.

I personally think the movie is really overrated but I don't really appreciate war movies so my opinion means nothing.

Its pretty good but may I recommend Band of brothers its even better then the movie, I fucking love HBO movie quality series with extra long story developmental.

Me too. What's your favorite episode? Mine was Crossroads.
Oh and have you seen The Pacific? It was such a disappointment.

Read the book the pacific was based off of, "With the Old Breed" by E.B. Sledge, best book I have ever read.
As for best part, I don't even remember, which means it's time to put it back in and wath BoB again.

The opening scene is incredible. It goes downhill from there imo. Pretty good none the less. Band of brothers is definitely better but that's the best war thing ever. Bastogne is incredible.

My friend played the opening scene for a speech type thing in our 8th grade class to a completely unsuspecting class.
After about 100 gallons of blood and guts the teacher made him turn the tv off.
Best presentation on WW2 in grade school ever.
