Growing Pan cyans in marijuna pots outside
    #16326896 - 06/03/12 04:39 PM (11 months, 9 days ago)

Dont very much like cleaning things in PC.  so here is aged water buffalo poo crumbled and laid on top of a layer of straw in flower pots.

Works very well and every time have good storm have fruiting. This is very good space saver!  also nice to go up t sunrise for a puff and eat a few caps on saturday morning.

That's the essence of a great saturday morning right there.:aweyeah:

Great pics! Did you put any spawn there or does the poo just come sporulated from the field?

Was the manure pasteurized?
My concern is that those may all not be Panaeolus Cyanescens.
I see all those other weeds that seemed to have no trouble surviving whatever you did to that sub, and the last 3 photos look to me like Bolbitus Sp. or another highly common inedible dung fungus.

See how the mushroom in my avatar is identical to the specimen in your bottom 3 photos.
Once when I improperly pasteurized a poo sub, I had several of them flush from it as well as a few sprouts. I almost couldn't tell - my grow was for Pan. Cambodegeniensis, almost identical to Cyanescens.
In fact, my avatar is a Bolbitus Sp. next to a little sprout from that very same failed Panaeolus grow. I like the photo a lot at least.

Either way, My eyes spot what appear to be 2 maybe 3 different fungi in your photos.

Be careful, and be sure.

Thank you

These are all field poos, i only break up and spread around on top of garden pots that grow very bushy plants.  there are 5 species of mushrooms i find in these so far.  i only eat ones that print black and bruise blue that look like pans.  there 1 species that looks just like pan cyan but gills brown and spore print not black.  also no bruise, so not eat those.  thanks for checking to see if right   the last pictures are about 3-5mm tall, but when they get big they look like upper pictures.

the flower pots are down like this:

bottom is coco/perlite mix about 5cm.  then a mix of worm castings and coco and perlite in even mix (for plants).  then i put straw dried in the sun on top and mix with crumbled poo about 5cm layer.  then another 5cm layer of just poo because in rain it breaks down fast.

one thing i notice about the pans is they really like to have super humid foggy weather to fruit.  other species from the dung can also fruit in drier clear day.  pan dont like clean days, they like to be very thick humidity for 2-3 days then fruit here.

No Panaeolus spawn? Do you just have Copelandias growing around your field where you get your dung??

no spawn, all wild mycelium that brought back and given TLC.  i grow inside too, but i dont like sterilizing everything all the time.  this way, although not so consistent or high yield, is very easy to take care of.  i also like picking them from my garden, its relaxing.  set and setting, this helps me for this.

the poo is water buffalo in case i dont mention up.
