New details in the massive psychedelic mushroom bust happening Wednesday night.
16 thousand-dollars worth of mushrooms, also known as "magic mushrooms" were taken from a home in Bowling Green.
"We discovered what at least in the last 30 years, the biggest seizure of a psychedelic-type mushroom facility, if you will, in Bowling Green Warren County," says Tommy Loving with the Warren County Drug Task Force.
36-year old Robert Robinson was arrested in Clarksville, Tennessee for allegedly selling the drug Wednesday.
The task force then obtained a search warrant to Robinson's home here in Bowling Green.
"He had stages of production, and as we've learned about this operation, there's basically three stages of production and part of that was in the garage area part , in the dinning room, and the final drying area stage was in the bedroom of the house," says Loving.
An estimated 16-thousand dollars were found in the home plus 22 tubs of the drug in the middle stages of production.
"As far as what was in the final stage of production that would be ready to actually sell on the street, we did the weights on that which is about 4.2 pounds," says Loving.
Robinson was found with an extra 10 pounds on him at the time of his arrest.
Police suspect Robinson was selling to people in South Central Kentucky as well as Northern Tennessee, they even suspect a lot of the drugs he sold were bought by people attending the popular outdoor concert, Bonnaroo.
"There's no doubt that with the amount he had, he was a big supplier."
Loving says they estimate he was able to produce 10 pounds of the drug every 40 days.
He says this mushroom drug, popular in the 1970's, is making a comeback in the area.
"We've seen three large busts this year in Warren County."
Robinson faces class D felony charges and up to five years in jail if convicted.

I hate how the weighed the substrate though, when its probably half h20 and wont produce nearly as many shrooms in weight.It just sounds way worse than it is

I had no idea breathing the air around dried cubes was so dangerous. Should I be wearing a gas mask and sealed clothing in my grow room from now on?

I live in KY..Thats about two hours near my house..Also a large University town too..With KY passing that new drug law maybe this guy can get off easy with Drug Court/Fines/andor probation..KY passed a new law to where small amounts of any drug I believe are taken a lot less seriously..Ive read numerous reports of people simply being written tickets for small amounts of weed all the way up to speed..So we'll see..I know this wasnt a small amount,but still a non-violent offense..

Mushrooms are considered CONTAINERS of a controlled substance. I don't think they can charge you with manufacturing because you aren't actually making Psilocybin/Psilocin, just the container of it. IDK tho, hopefully they fucked up somewhere on the paperwork and this guy can get off since he was doing a community service, not committing a crime.
