June 2012 Picture of the Month Nominations

Welcome to the June 2012 Ethnobotanical Garden Picture of the Month Nominations thread. :sanpedro:

In this thread you can nominate the best pictures posted in the Ethnobotanical Garden and other forums during the month of June. At the end of June all nominations go into a poll and we can vote on which should be the Picture of the Month. Anyone can nominate a picture.

Four contest rules:
1. Original botanical-related pictures only.
2. Posted during June only.
3. No Self-nominations allowed.
4. No humans are to be in the shot.

Each nomination should include:

A thumbnail linking to a larger version of the picture.
A brief description.
The name of the picture's owner.
A link to the thread in which the picture was originally posted.

For example:

Salvia divinorum inflorescence by psyke101 posted here

yes the sun was hitting perfectly on the flower through the roof of the greenhouse at the Missouri Botanical Gardens

it was a very waxy looking plant and i edited it of course, is that allowed?

Color enhancement? I must say , we have some great photographers here. This months pics are exceptionally well taken.
