500 greatest albums of all time list

Just read the 500 greatest albums of all time list from Rolling stone, besides my usual rage at seeing albums like Dookie out rank All Things Must Pass I must say the top 10 is pretty solid.
What are your thoughts?

Way too fucking much of the beatles.

Bob Dylan belongs on there though. Iunno...the top 10 seems pretty iffy to me.

I'm a crazy Dylan fan too, wish I would have seen a couple more of his albums on there too like John Wesley Harding and Nashville Skyline. Yeah this is totally the 500 greatest classic rock albums of all time but with a couple odds and ends added to appeal to younger readers.

These should have made it too man.

All they did was pave the ground for future bands. A lot of musicians were inspired by The Beatles but are they the best there ever was? Absolutely not...were they original and had some pretty good music? Yes...

Exactly.

Its like saying Robert Johnson is the best guitar player of all time.  Was he great and original? yes.  Did he inspire countless greats? Yes.  Best ever? Not even close.

The Beatles churned out so many well-crafted albums, it's nearly unbelievable.
Most within a year of each other.

They're not my favorite band, and perhaps wouldn't even make my top 5, but to deny their brilliance is downright silly. :shrug:

Shit, one of my best psychedelic experiences consisted of listening to Sgt. Peppers Lonely Heart's Club Band while losing myself in a forest on a damn good dose of LSD.

I've got nothing but love for them. Besides, that's all you need, right? :heart:

I think the beatles are the greatest rock band of all time.

I would say the doors are the greatest american rock band of all time.

that is a fucking stupid list.
I love the beatles and bob dylan but the top 10 is beatles, dylan, beatles, dylan, marvin gaye, beach boys, beatles, dylan.......

Although, any list of top albums that includes every genre is fail.


And Led Zeppelin should be in the top 10.
