nah I just got the code off idiot, but he had some infected mushroom thing in the background, so I just changed the pic over to this one. I find it makes it harder for people to read over your shoulder, too.

I see you're really into the custom style sheets now. There are a few users floating around with really cool layouts, but i forget who they are.

I figured the infected mushroom pic is on topic for this site.

Yeah I can definitely see how this skin would make it hard for eye's behind the shoulder.

So all I need to do to change the background is replce that deviantart link with whatever link I want?

pretty much man, clear your cache after you've saved it and hit refresh and it should come up :smile:

idiot; any idea where to get these cool sheets from? I always like switching it up.

basically just copy the above code into the custom style sheet in your account settings > display/number of topics shown settings.

If you want a different pic in the background just copy the URL for it and paste it over where I've got "http://fc07.deviantart.net/fs6/i/2005/070/6/5/Blue_Aztec_by_lured.jpg"

make sure you set the dropdown shroomery skin chooser to something like deluvian blue or green or something, then save your changes. in your browser hit 'refresh/clear cache' and hit refresh and voila you should have your own custom background.

I'm not too sure, play around with them and see if they work.... i know shroomery defualt doesn't work with it but not sure about the rest :thumbup:

this is awesome but why won't it let me swap out the picture by swapping out the image link? I don't know much about coding but can't i just leave everything else the same but change the link to the background image to customize it?

I tried and it stayed with the same myan image even though i changed the link

Write the css yourself, thats what I did.

This was several years ago but when I was having issues with my css I went back to the WAF thread that introduced me to this feature and ythan fixed it for me.

Basically look for a color picker online with rgba code and replace the appropriate section with whatever color you chose. The 0.8 at the end of the color code is the transparency and in this case means 80%. Ythan made the sites code fairly easy to understand so you should be able to finagle it pretty easily. You can even fuck with the margins and padding and any other html affected by css to make the site completely different.

thanks man I'll look into that when I'm done with my final. Sounds pretty fun to mess with and hand out codes for custom backgrounds

if you search "shroom wallpaper" in google images and look for larger images you will find it, I saw that last night and tried it but it's pretty solid and makes a lot hard to look at.

nah the mayan one/switching back to standard works perfectly. it's not clearing the cache, its because i've messed up the code some how. i don't know if it will be hard to read, have to see what it looks like first

if you're using chrome

cntrl+h> clear all browsing data> select only "clear cache"> select "from beginning of time" > enter.

then when it's done refresh and it should work. I was having trouble getting it to change from the Mayan picture at first as well

browser settings. of if you are on a mac just go to safari/firefox in top menu... should just be an option.

yeah thats pretty sick man. its better then my one i have to admit. my one is kind :uhoh:

one of the reasons I didn't like bluelight was because I hate that bright white forum shit It's like staring into the sun. there's no fun in locking yourself into a 3 day cyberdrug binge in a dark room when you're staring at a white screen all day

I took Gravijas code and added a bit to it to make it more readable. There still are some errors like the post counter is still white and the [Re: xxxx] are still colors that I don't want them to be, but everything else seems to work properly.

There were a lot of problems with it but then I just switched up the default to desert classic and it looks good. So if you haven't already I suggest doing that.

Hey guys I need help. I just switched to Opera and now the the background behind the thread lists is transparent but it translucent and perfect with chrome and firefox. Can anyone help?

Looks like there's a bug with opera 9.5. I don't use it myself, but it looks.like a lot of opera users are having the same issue with opera. What version are you using?
