There wasn't one yet so here it is folks.
I know it's out of their usual season and it's been dry the past few day but I found these cyans in Seattle just about a week ago. Lots of little pins were breaking ground but I don't think they made it. MORE FOR NEXT FALL!!!!

Go HUNTING!!! You'll be surprised by what you stumble over. (Take pictures and show us, we'd like to be surprised too)

Those look like psilocybe ovoideocystidiata to me. Nice find, seems to be lots of finds of these so far this year.
EDIT: We probably have Bfogg to thank for the majority of them

Oh wow! If so then this is the first time I've found ovoids! They look similar to the ones I had found but I hadn't noticed any stipe on them though? That or they weren't so prominent and I hadn't noticed.
I'll definitely be keeping my eye out though.

A stipe is a stem, I believe you were reffering to a ring or annulus
Great find! <3 and yes, thank you bfogg

It's gonna be a while until there are some consistent finds out here. Starts up around August, but it all depends. With how last year's thread went, I think I will refrain from posting, and just have a personal thread. But I will be watching

More Seattle finds. There were tons where these were found, and I only saw one or two other types of mushrooms there. It was nighttime so I didn't get any habitat pictures. There were a bunch of old dried up ones and tons of pins as well. Hopefully they will get the rain they need to grow big and strong. My girlfriend would like me to get a positive "yes these are definitely not poisonous" approval from here before we eat any of them, so if anyone can do that I would much appreciate it. Oh, and they all turned blue when bruised, I tried not to beat them up too much though. I am working on some spore prints right now, and am hoping to have a few to share with some Seattle people on here who are interested in spreading the love and doing some microscopy.

Wow, some of those are the fattest ovoid I have ever seen, they must love their environment. Stellar find!

Those last two photos look more like Cortinarius than Psilocybe.

The last two pics are just the gills from one of the big ones I was holding in my hand. Spore prints are done, all a dark purple-ish brown color, and a few of these have been consumed with mixed results. They are definitely the right kind of mushrooms, but I did not like how they tasted at all. They tasted very much like they smell, very very farinaceous. They were consumed fresh. They made my tummy hurt and feel a little nauseous, but I think at least part of that feeling was psychological from choking them down with the icky taste. Drying the rest so they can become delicious chocolate treats. I've never eaten any of these fresh before, do they always taste like so much ass? And they seemed to work ok for me, but not my girlfriend so much. what is the potency difference between fully mature ones and smaller not quite grown up ones? And I am willing to send out the spore prints I have, they aren't perfect, some are a little light, but I have about 8 or so to share. Just PM me if you are interested.

Sadly, yes. Some people actually enjoy that flavor... can you imagine?
The smaller ones are usually more potent for their size. Ovoids are decently potent all-around though. Certainly more potent than homegrown Psilocybe cubensis. You have to remember that for consuming fresh mushrooms you should eat 10 times the weight you would dry. i.e. if your intended dose was 1.5 grams dry, you would need to eat 15 grams fresh for the same effect.

There was a 2011-2012 but I think it was eventually closed.

Bumping for beta! Is there another 2012 thread looming that I have not seen?
Anybody finding fruit with this new rain? I have started seeing morels around where I live (~2,500ft - west side of the cascades near Mt. Rainier) Amanita are starting to pop up.

"blue ringers" is a slang term for stunzii. I believe you have found psilocybe ovoideocystidiata and that makes me pretty fucking jealous.

Hi all,
I'm new to shroom passion...but have become crazy about them and as I hike through hill and dale of the PNW I try to take pictures of all of the various fungi. Not only looking for edibles, but they all are just so darn beautiful and fun to photograph. The only ones I've dared eat so far are the shaggy manes. Well, and those little ones with the little nipples from the cow pasture. Which did nothing for me!
Anyway, a friend just found a huge mushroom "bloom" of unidentifieds in a lowland coastal pasture and sent me pictures. I have no idea what these are so I'll see if I can post a couple and if anyone can help I will get more info. Let me know if this is not the proper place to post these, and I will start a new thread? Thanks! The season has begun! Happy Me!

Those look like psathyrella which are neither active or edible. You should make a new post and an ID request if you want to know what you have found next time.
