inoculation Temperature

Hey guys!
So i've let my jars sit for 4 complete days.
I finally decided to look and 3 of the 9 are doing decent, the other 6, however, aren't making any progress.
Those were the ones that I made mistakes on.
For the first 3 jars I think it was still too hot for me to inoculate the spores. If it was hot, will the mycelium still grow? or were the spores ruined.
For the next three jars i left it to cool alot longer (about 7 hours) but it was warm-normal termperature. These also didn't grow.
The last three jars I left it to cool completely to room temperature and they're growing nicely.
So the questions are, will the mycelium still grow? or were the spores ruined.
Should I wait a few more days to see anything?
If nothing happens, do you think I could inoculate those jars again without sterilizing? or Should I completely start from scratch with those first 6 after I wait??

Just let them cool overnight in the pot next time so that you can know for sure they are cool. You should be able to just feel the outside of the jar and if it's cool to the touch you're good to go.
If the jars were even slightly warm you killed your spores.

Same here. No PC, but I have a tight fitting pot for making 2.5 gallons of wort (beer) in. I steam on a rack for 90 minutes, and never open the pot until the next morning. Then it is straight into a clean, still air box.

Then would it be possible to inoculate them right now? without worrying too much about contamination?
or should I Pressure cook it again and then inoculate?

You can reinoculate but I'd personally just start new jars.

37.34%.
Nah just kiddding. I really don't know man, it's hard to put a number on that I don't know if anyone really can. Substrate is cheap not sure how much you paid for your BRF and vermiculite but like I said personally I'd just redo it but if you really want to reinoculate them feel free to.

Be patient, with a MS syringe it can take up to 7-10 days before you see growth, after that chances of growth fall off very drastically

No shame in that, ripping off a piece of shit company like Wal-mart is typically viewed as a good thing around here. I understand your dilemma though...do you have a large enough pot that has a lid that you could use instead?
There's nothing wrong with steam sterilizing your Pf Tek jars. It's the only way I did mine and I had no issues with contams.

Some of his jars aren't going to grow anything probably because he inoculated while the jars were still warm. You should probably check out the whole thread.

Thanks VV.
I'll give it like a few more days. Maybe I'll have stupid luck.
if not I'll definitely start from scratch with those jars.
btw any way I should clean the jar? or just dump what's in it and clean it with hot water. Then fill it up and sterilize in PC?

Soap and water then 70% iso alcohol to be sure you kill any bacteria then you're good to go. I'd say wait 3-5 more days if you really want and see if anything grows in those jars, there really is always a chance but I always hated waiting on a possible thing when I could start over and be sure I do it right so that it's a guaranteed thing.

Stealing is never justified, no matter how much you hate the person or company you're stealing from. Brag about it elsewhere.
