My goal is for humanity to recognize my superior wisdom and make me supreme leader with first choice on the women.  Oh what a wonderful paradise that would be.

I don't disagree with you. I enjoy my life a lot, and find it very fun and an enjoyable ride. The point of this thread is that I feel people try and save the world to make it more to their liking, and out of very selfish and egotistical reasons. "Only I know the correct way earth should be run!" Type of deal. So now we have 6 billion people who all have their version of what heaven on earth is like. Now, do you suppose everyone is going to agree? Doubtful. What will lead from this? Conflict and war. America and The USSR both thought they new what was best for the world, and in the process of trying to save it, they almost nuked the shit out of it. So the way I see it, the best way to help the world is stop trying to help it.

Lots of truth in there, and really interesting. Personally I see the imposing of a theme or idea of the utopian society, or merely the society they wanted, is more of a result of the State, rather than of human nature. I don't know what the right way is though, and I hope I haven't implied that i do. All I know is just that this current way of ordering things is a mess. I'm quite doubtful, or cynical even, that anything can be done about cleaning the mess. But I still would like us to try together though, without so much as someone commanding what we're doing in an authoritarian way, but a group of human beings working together in a cooperative way for the benefit of our species. An authoritarian way might be the only solution- I doubt it, but I don't know. I would like to see us co-operate, but I really don't think this can be achieved right now, or if it could be successful at addressing the problems we face.

So I agree with you in at least some sense haha. Sorry if this makes no sense, just found some good weed, woo-hoo!

No, it makes sense. Even though there is a mess, I'm still an optimist, and I think humanity is doing a lot better at working together in harmony now then it was ever in the past. We aren't killing each other for small issues (at least most of us aren't) anymore.

Humanity as a civilization is going nowhere, but the human species and their nervous system are inseperable from the reality they inhabit... if the nervous system is changed, the reality is changed. Well, it's changing, and you can change it even more. Something disintegrates as you learn the way about the brain, it's the self. Without self, you are stepping into a mystery - what circumstance can be certain if the observer is not certain?

We are heading into an expansive, infathomable inner land, and we will never leave the present moment, which is eternal.

I don't know about "saving" anything. What I do know it that humans are an integral part of this Earth-life-system. Not separate from, but integral. It has also been my experience that the outer reality is a reflection of the inner reality, and we can produce measurable change in the outer by how we choose to be, internally. Thoughts are things, you do have mind power which grows in intensity as focus and clarity are achieved. You can work on yourself. If a lot of people work on them self, and I'm not talking about flying to Africa to build an orphanage (although that could be a part of it), then the world would change. Start with your immediate relationships and the things that give you fear and anxiety in life. Practice being conscious - don't go crazy - but make some effort to be mindful of momentary interactions.

Exactly, change begins with such small decisions and interactions.  One person can accomplish a whole lot, two or three people who are really on the level spiritually can totally start to make huge waves. I don't know about "saving" the world but changing it is something I have done and plan on continuing to do in the future.

The revolution will be televised!
