WFC: Voting (who fucking cares) 1

I don't even see a point in voting anymore. There really aren't any politicians that reflect my views. I want legalized drugs and socialized medicine. Those are the only issues I have any interest in anymore. I at least liked Ron Paul because he'd have ended the drug war. That would have at least been a good start. I swear. The older I get the less I care. You can live and die and these dumb asses will just do what they want. It doesn't matter at all.

So don't vote.
Ron Paul is incapable of ending the drug war. Presidents do not make law.
If you are unaware of such a simple fact, the rest of us are better off if you don't vote.

Not true.
Presidents can pardon whomever they want. A blanket pardon for an entire class of people has been done before.
The President's interpretation of the law and constitution is also relevant. A president is within his rights to forbid enforcement of laws that are unconstitutional.
You underestimate the power of the chief executive. You clearly need more education. I suggest reading the constitution as a start.

Pardoning every person in jail for a drug related offense still doesn't end the war on drugs.
The courts opinions trump the Presidents.
Take your own advice on education. Preferably before saying something that stupid again.

Anyone notice this?"

where is johnm12 to chastise the OP of this thread? Apparently people who vote are the most ignorant people on the planet, who sit in a corner and cry.
How about congress, who wants to see new congress officials get elected? We can't very well go down the list of every governor to get elected as though we all live in the same state. But president president president, what about the cabinet, and the congress, senate, cmon Obama and GB helped destroy our country with a ton of fairly shitty approvals. It takes more then one person to approve. It takes a frigging nation.
I don't want to bring up lobbyists either, I'll leave that one out. Am I ignorant to not want to vote for a politician that will become a lobbyist? I don't like voting for ignorance. Call it ignorance not to vote if you want, but I believe the country can make very wise decisions based on each individual person without expecting a politician to come in and hold your hand.

If you want Ron Paul or any 3rd party candidate to have a chance, we need to start using instant-runoff voting.

OP: Every vote does count. If you truly want to make a difference then get more involved in politics. Run for a county office or in a local election. Follow Ron Paul and his idea of changing the country. Alot of people are politically ignorant and can't comprehend politics. I was this way until I started getting into it and following it more. Make it a hobby. And most importantly... GO VOTE!!!

I present facts as I see them. In my old age I don't care about debating with people who won't consider changing their opinions no matter the facts. I don't have the patience for it. If you doubt that the executive can do what I said then present evidence to that effect.

I'm more inclined to withdraw my consent of government by abstaining than voting for a candidate that will probably get less than 2%.

I'm not going to vote for him regardless of his views because not many people will vote for him. I'm so much of a follower most of the population has to vote for him before I will consider it.
really dude? Lame. People like you are the reason he will only get 2%

Fair enough, I respect your opinion of me. I'd like to see a more parliamentary system where a party gets representation based on the percentage of votes they get. It's not likely to happen. So I just don't see the point.

Just think about it dude. Take 10 min to read about him. If u like what you see, maybe tell a couple other people. Bring his name up when you hear people talking about politics. Advocate him. Before you know it he'll have 10% of the vote. Then 20. He doesnt have the millions to campaign like the crooks so it's up to people like you and me to get that number above 2%
And not just Gary Johnson, hell maybe you won't like him. Do it for whoever you like, there's more than 2 choices. the middle class is fucked and it upsets me to see everyone just sit down and shut up because of how frustrated they are. Speak up.
Our generation is probably fucked either way. But someone still has to try and change it, or it will be even worse for the next generation. I can't even imagine...
