I first smoked with my little brother when he was 16, and he had already smoked with friends. And it was still very awkward for me, I smoked with my next little brother when he was 15 and it was alittle less awkward.
Now he's 16 and its not awkward at all.

i was like 14, 15 tops when i first smoked weed. not saying i turned out totally awesome or anything, but trying cannabis for the first time at an early age certainly isn't what's responsible for any of the things about me that may have turned out less than perfect. if he's asking you to smoke him out, then it's already a given that he's going to eventually find a way to smoke herb, so his introduction can either be through a brother that loves him and is looking out for his best interest, or through whatever other idiot 14 year old with a weed connect he manages to get ripped off by. the way i see it he's around the age when i'd be comfortable introducing him to the good herb in a responsible manner.

not 14 OP.. i started smoking with my little brother when he was too young and I regret it. Just because you can responsibly handle drugs does not, in any way shape or form mean your little brother can too. You definitely want to be open with him about it because if you aren't he is just going to experiment with other people, but try to make him wait till he is a little bit older and more mature. I've seen many a little brother get into hard drugs and become the "family fuck up" after getting exposed to drugs too early.. including my own who is still really struggling with a heroin addiction

Holy shit! I have never had a pub thread give me such an emotional response. When I first saw this picture I was sure it was my first girlfriend from high school. Then I realized not, boobs too big. Anyhow, I am on the fence about your brother, he is obviously going to do it, you just said he did.

What did they smoke out of? The first time I smoked it was out of a pen tube with a hole carved in it, stuffed with perforated tin foil. I REALLY wish that wasn't how I first smoked pot. That probably did as much damage as all the bongs I have safely smoked afterward!!!
Kids used to smoke out of pop cans because kids are broke and they can easily discard of their pipe each use that way. At the very least buy him a stem and bowl to carry around and show him to make a bong out of a water bottle with it.
Show him the difference between shit weed, mids and primo weed. Let him know that at 14, he should embrace getting high from cheap shitty weed. Teach him how it is sold and let him know how to NOT get ripped off. Never let a dealer leave with your money, never front money to a dealer... if anything, ever... a dealer fronts to YOU!
Teach him that kids these days have a fucked up mentality and will beat you senseless, not just because you owe them money, but, because high school is a strange place where people will do that for fun/fame or fear.
Teach him that selling at that age is very stupid and high risk. Even though he would probably not end up with a record, he doesn't want to end up with a reputation.
Tell him that if him and his buddies grab a new bag from one of their sources and it is different, inform him of why it is a good idea to be 'polite' and let his group of friends hit the bong/pipe/joint before him... I personally did buy some weed when I was young and I knew as soon as I smelled it that there was something a little different about it. It was obvious shwag weed but, we smoked it and we were FUCKED for a full day, I was 14 and high on goddamn PCP. Not cool at all and I would not wish that on your brother.
Maybe you should show him this thread if replies really pile up. Personally, if I could go back, I would smoke weed for my first time again. I would do it all differently though. Smoking weed everyday at 15 is ridiculous and smoking weed before school is stupid (for me, I know people who really excelled in school stoned)
Marijuana IS a gateway drug... I am sorry, I don't mean to be rude. It is not marijuana's fault that it leads to harder drugs, it isn't the profile of pot that makes you want to smoke rocks and snort oxy's... pot often changes my mind when I plan to take some other type of drug, I will smoke some pot and then either forget about the other drug or feel like I don't really want it right then. Pot is a gateway drug because it is a black market commodity, it is also a gateway to illegal firearms and prostitution. Not pot's fault. The FACT that pot is grouped with other things that black market dealers like to sell is the reason that your little bro could end up exposed to coke, pills, etc.
I think if you notice that your brother is smoking a lot, that you should start buying it for him. Make him spend his own money so he isn't a hog, but, go splits with him, if you buy a half ounce a week, get him his eighth or quarter. It would be cheaper for both of you, you would know that he doesn't have to go to other drug dealers and be exposed to the risk of other drugs, the dealers themselves and the law.
Again, if it seems like it is something he is going to keep doing, this christmas you are to buy him a stealth vaporizer that he has to keep at home. Getting stoned outside is nice when you have the chance to be in a large park or hiking trails, keep it indoors otherwise.

i guess the only reason i say that is because ive only smoked weed one time in my life and not got a noticable buzz at least. and it was (obviously) the worst ive ever seen.

I feel if he starts smoking now, he's just going to have even worse social skills and lose interest in a lot of things he has going for him. I feel like I even started too early, I just had a serious drug discussion with him though. Just want my little brother to be safe.

I got weed for myself when I was 13 and showed it to my brother. He laughed in my face and said I overpayed like crazy. From that point on he hooked me up.
I was such a little stoner until I found how much more I preferred alcohol.

I know he is young, and i had a long talk with him about the drug scene when i found out that he had snuck into the woods with a friend and tried to smoke a joint. Ended up burning his throat and nostrils and not even getting high
I just dont want him making stupid mistakes like i did and i know when i was his age i started taking random ass pills, smoking cigarettes, and getting into trouble. Marijuana wasn't even the first thing i tried, but my god if i could, i would've done it. I tried, i got ripped off so many times though.
I did see the weed he smoked though, it was some decent over priced mids though.
Me and my girl will probably smoke with him this summer. He's mature for his age, reminds me of myself a lot, but lacks common sense and is hardcore adhd. I want him to mature a bit more physically before he smokes though. But if he wants to try it, he might as well try it once to see if he likes it. I dont want him doing it habitually though, thats for sure. It'll fuck up his social and communication skills even more.
