And not just Gary Johnson, hell maybe you won't like him. Do it for whoever you like, there's more than 2 choices.

No there isn't, if you mean there are more than two choices for president. There are in reality just two. You might wish there were more than two, you might hate the fact that there are only two, but that doesn't change the fact - and yes, it is a fact - that the next president of the United States will be either Mitt Romney or Barack Obama.

So, given that fact - and yes, it is a fact - what is the best voting strategy for someone living in a swing state who would prefer the next president to be someone who holds positions closer to those held by Gary Johnson than the other guy?

I don't miss the point, I accept reality. The reality is that Gary Johnson won't be the next president of the United States. It will be either a guy who holds a lot (probably most) of the same attitudes towards government that Gary Johnson does, or a guy who holds almost none of them. That is just the way it will be, brah, no matter how much you think that sucks.

I presume you want to vote for Gary Johnson not because of his keen haircut and devil-may-care smile and flashing eyes, but because you agree with his policy positions, right? So you have a chance to get at least some of those policies pushed by the next president. Or you can watch as those policy positions are ridiculed and demonized and straw-manned and undermined by the jug-eared SCOAMF currently occupying the White House. Not just for the next four years, but (given the advances of medical technology) for as long as another four decades, when that Chicago Machine hack packs the Supreme Court with at least two more legislators who lean so far left they'll make Sotomayor and Kagan look like Alito and Scalia. But hey... at least you didn't follow the herd, right?

May your chains rest lightly on you.

This is a good reason for having Supreme Court nominations require supermajority support. Of all the things which should require 60 votes, it should be this. And there's plenty of things which should require a simple majority... I'm very eager to see what happens when the Supreme Court rules on the constitutionality of the filibuster. :yesnod:

I present facts as I see them. In my old age I don't care about debating with people who won't consider changing their opinions no matter the facts. I don't have the patience for it. If you doubt that the executive can do what I said then present evidence to that effect.

I'm supposed to present a case when you will not?

Can  you link me to a post where you have demonstrated your flexibility in changing your position on an issue?:satansmoking:

Ah. A non-answer from one who can't provide one.

Good for you!

For me, the fact that Obama hasn't gone to war with Iran and continued with the war mongering is almost enough for me to Vote for him. I think its obvious for most people that they both suck a whole lot, but Romney I can't get behind, he leaves a real bad taste in my mouth, his ability to change positions even in the same conversation is just astounding.
