nah, those are Stuntzii. Ovoids don't really get the blue bruising on the veil quite as much as stuntzii, plus the cap and gill structure would be different for ovoids.

Happy Me said: Hi all,
I'm new to shroom passion...but have become crazy about them and as I hike through hill and dale of the PNW I try to take pictures of all of the various fungi. Not only looking for edibles, but they all are just so darn beautiful and fun to photograph. The only ones I've dared eat so far are the shaggy manes. Well, and those little ones with the little nipples from the cow pasture. Which did nothing for me!
Anyway, a friend just found a huge mushroom "bloom" of unidentifieds in a lowland coastal pasture and sent me pictures. I have no idea what these are so I'll see if I can post a couple and if anyone can help I will get more info. Let me know if this is not the proper place to post these, and I will start a new thread? Thanks! The season has begun! Happy Me!

Not to sound like a downer, but an ID post, on the first page, and it's still June Official threads are for actives, not ID requests. It should be obvious, but I guess there should be a note (but I would imagine most new users would miss that too).
This is the main reason I will not post any finds in this thread. It got out of hand last year, and I know this year will probably be even worse. Already the first page, with ID requests and posts asking about finds and weather, ughhh Don't get me wrong, I'll still help out and give kudos, but you won't see me post here.
Read this, if you already haven't, and go through all the links. It will help ya know EXACTLY what to look for. http://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/12412007
And every person new to this thread, and also new to hunting needs to read the rules so useless posts stay to a minimum. http://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/2263556

Nice little ovoid. Should've let him go till this thursday They are pretty slow growers here in the PNW. I've documented them taking over two weeks to reach maturity, especially with the cold spring/summer we have had.

I would like to dedicate this find to Bfogg. Took your advice and I waited until Thursday and my oh my are they beautiful. And also because I feel like the PNW has you & your guerilla tactics to thank for the ovoid's recent appearance around the fungus among us. Bravo!

I can't take credit for your find, but I can't say I haven't helped many species along in the Puget Sound area Glad you waited and gave them the time to mature and drop some spores. Beautiful photo. I think the taste like "chicken of the woods", especially when fresh. Reminds me of a really potent stuntzii high, which makes sense seeing they are in section Stuntzae

I'm just gonna dominate my own thread, and follow this one with anticipation of a few good finds and pictures, so it's all good in my mind. Oh, the wait for baeos and cyanofibs is killing me

Can't wait to see that. I've only found one small scattered patch of cyanofib in florence at a spot the cops always watch so I can't go back. Hopefully I will find some more this season in a different place. This year I'll get photos of at least Azurescens, Cyanescens and Liberty caps. It's kinda sad Baeos and Stuntzii aren't so abundant down here in Oregon. I've never seen either of them. Maybe I'll have to take a trip up to Seattle this year.
