RUSTON, La. (WTW) — A package being delivered to a Lincoln Parish home caught the attention of authorities and has resulted in the arrests of six people.

Officials with the Lincoln Parish Narcotics Enforcement Team say Tuesday's bust also led to the confiscation of more than three pounds of marijuana, a pound of hashish, a cabinet used to grow marijuana indoors, several weapons, various drug paraphernalia including a digital scale and glass pipes, two vials and blotter paper containing suspected LSD and 113 lollipops containing suspected THC.

Alan Michael Shaffer, 29, Christina Burson, 27, Russell Erik Brasher, 22, Sarah Diaz, 23, and Victoria Khalil Langan, 19, all of Ruston, as well as Michael Renn Brasher, 25, of Vidalia, each was arrested on multiple drug charges, including conspiracy to possess a Schedule I drug with intent to distribute. They're being held at the Lincoln Parish Detention Center.

It was not immediately known whether any of the suspects had an attorney.

The Ruston Daily Leader (http://bit.ly/JexO7a ) reports the narcotics enforcement team was notified about a package containing suspected controlled substances and LPNET and Louisiana State Police coordinated a scheduled delivery of it to the home in Ruston. A search warrant was obtained and the illegal drugs and other items were found.

"This was a very scary and dangerous drug bust we made here, and I want to applaud LPNET and show them appreciation for the work they do," said Sheriff Mike Stone. "They are out there trying to make sure this kind of stuff is not available and is off the streets."

Stone and Ruston Police Chief Steve Rogers both said dealing with THC lollipops and LSD is a scary situation, especially with children around.

"We have never had the marijuana lollipops around here before, but how easy would it be for a child to pick one up," Stone said. "We would have no idea what that would do to that child either."

Rogers said parents need to be aware of such drugs and the way they're being presented in communities.

"One drop of LSD or one THC lollipop could change your life," he said. "The dangers these officers face just handling these substances is tremendous. They have to get the credit that is due to them. This was very fine work."

I hope so. The weapons thing made me cringe when I read it. No idea what they found and it sucks that they were stupid enough to have weapons there. I know that makes things difficult.
