Isn't the requirement of 10 posts before you can read some TEK's counter productive? I'm a noob, what do I have to contribute at this point? I'm still trying to learn and you're blocking me from learning until I make some irrelevant and uninformed posts?
I use the search function to find what I need, should I start posting "How do I..." questions so I can reach 10 posts?

What are you trying to view specifically? All our teks should be accessible to everyone, even visitors who aren't logged in. The only forums you need 10 posts for are Other Drugs Discussion and Grow Logs and Pictures.

I'll have to get back to you on that.... it's hit or miss and I don't have an example right now.
I usually see it when I'm clicking links in posts.
Now that I think about it, it could be Grow Logs or Pictures..... could people be linking "here's what I'm talking about" links to those pages perhaps?

Yep, that GLC tek is in the Grow Logs board. Two more posts until you can read it.

Ok, I guess I'll hit 10 soon...... However, I'd like to repeat my first observation-

Most teks aren't in Grow Logs, though some are as you've seen.
I suppose it's a hassle to people now and then, but you can swing by the Pub and chat.
The grow log forum has the time/post requirement as a security feature.
But I more or less agree with your point. Reply back to this post and then go browse.

THIS PLACE SERIOUSLY NEEDS REORGANIZED.
Just thought I should throw that out there.  There should be a group of long-standing (no offense to anyone who just earned their wings) TCs appointed partial mod privs so they could do that... or at least something since the main page is on hold until whenever the new hardware is in place and whatever necessary updates occur.

All Trusted Cultivators have the necessary permissions to modify teks on the main site. The problem is there's so much flat-out wrong and outdated info there they always get discouraged after spending many hours deleting nonsense, and it doesn't even make a dent in it.
If it were up to me, I'd delete everything related to growing from the main site (shroomery.org) and just leave what's in the forums. That would be much easier than separating the grain from the chaff.

Ahhh shit. Ever do that thing where you type something and then modify it to make it sound less jumbled?
I did that and erased the part where I said about doing something with the forums. That's definitely the meat and potatoes. Maybe make the archive a place for archiving relevant, not antiquated, information. Maybe a whole buttload of stickies in the main mush. cult. board. Just something to cut down on unnecessary hassle for all parties involved.
