Using unspent mushroom compost in a monotub

i am working on a quick and low maintenance system for my monotubs.
i have spoken to a local commercial mushroom farm about getting unspent mushroom compost.
i was after some opinions on how it would perform against the normal bulk substrates.

Not sure what your talking about, if it has been used to grow commercial mushrooms then it is no good, if it is unused substrate then it would help to know the ingredients.

Well, normally that type of fungi is grown on a horse manure based sub, however without knowing what is in the substrate exactly, it would be very hard to give any opinion on how it would perform.
All I could say is try some and see how you like it.
And chestnut buttons are portabellos correct?
