Hey what's up guys. I'm alittle worriedcause I have a lot riding on this and its my first time trying this so I'm alittle lost and was hoping you pros could give me some insight on what I've got going . Ok so I got my pics loaded so you all could see what's up the first two pics are the totes in the third pic same sides and the last to pics are the small trays but flip flop the positions use the third pic to base everything. Ok so I looked a a tek on here but didn't do it to specs that coir two with the bucket brick of coir and verm and boiling water sorry I don't remember the name of that tek.... anyway I used most of a brick of coir some verm no more the 2 quarts and some coffee and drywall for the most part. The first tub is straight. Coir verm. The rest have everything . It's been just under 3 weeks for the tubs and about a week to two weeks on the trays . I can't case unless its straight verm . Could some one take a look and tell me how I'm doing . I'm not really asking a direct question I would gladly answer any question you have for me to help you judge where I stand. [/center/]

Lol bear with me I'm new I don't even know what questions to ask. I know there close to done some of them but I'm not sure how Much longer also I have know way to check my temp or humidity that second tub seems to be dry a lot so I mist but there's mycelium on top and I hear that you don't want standing water on it... I just need some council from an experienced crowed.

You shouldn't need to mist until you move it to fruiting conditions- then you should have enough FAE that the surface dries by itself and you don't have water standing around.
But in general, the less you mess with things the better off you'll be.

If it looks dry then mist!! you are going about everything very well.. And no you don't want standing water on Myc so after you mist you must fan em real good this evaporation also stimulates pinning Good luck

Sorry Doc will do.
Yeah I do mist the one that seems dry but not the others.
I can't check the humidity though is the bad or can I get by?
That fist pic is the better tub but the mycelium Is not as white and thick as the smaller trays and its been going longer by about a week. Does it just need more time ( its about 3 weeks now?)
The temp in my house is set to 75

Thank you for the input I appreciate it.
Is there an average time to reach 100%, I know there are a number of variables but a general wait time would help set my mind to ease.
Also I want to become a master cultivater of shrooms so where would I be able to post that subject?

Well, if you have questions about mushroom cultivation or just want to talk about it, I suppose Mush Cult would be the place.
Let me just start things off by saying "go get a copy of The Mushroom Cultivator".

I will go there thanks, as for the info is it free cause I'm alittle broke right now so...
I'll try to get it soon, but talking to some seasoned growers sounds more interesting.
I want this to be a job if possible so I want to be the best lol.

Thanks ashfiken sorry for leaving you hangin should I fan every time I mist?
I think I saw some on post something about co2 levels when in the spawn run would over fanning hurt the colonizing?
Sorry for asking again but is that mycelium ok even though it not as thick and white as the smaller trays?

The tub doesn't necessarily look *bad*, but I'd say severely underdeveloped for 3 weeks of colonizing. Maybe I missed it but what spawn ratio did you use? Was the bulk substrate properly hydrated?

Well I'm not to sure on the ratio 1:1 probably I was following that tek titled this is how I use coir it called for a brick of coir 2 quarts verm in a bucket with boiling water with 5 quarts spawn.
I had put 2 3 lb rye bags in each tub and one per tray, now with the tubs I didnt use a full brick of coir and I'm not sure how many quarts of spawn are in a 3 lb rye bag.
Also the first tub has just coir verm all other have coffee grounds and powdered dry wall mixed in to.
As for hydration I squeezed until just a few drops came out that the only knowledge I had on that.

I'd say put that tub away for at least a week. The trays look decent and will probably be fully colonized in a few days.

I don't find aluminium very nice to work with. The mycellium tends to eat it up, which might possibly lead to traces of magnesium in your shrooms.

If it's pinning it's pinning, fruit it Probably started early because you introduced so much light and air by messing with it so much.
It's actually more colonized than I thought it was based on the first pictures.

Plenty of subs have fruited before full colonization, happens to people all the time. I doubt it's down to an exact equation (Such as % of colonzed substrate = % of potential yield) or anything like that, but it's relative. Your biggest problem could possibly be that a not 100% colonized substrate is much more susceptible to contamination (Or could even be a result of such)
