I'm sorry macmerdin, you are referring to the hygrophanous Cap margin, and I am referring to the lack of partial veil remnants on the stipe.
"Ring" is used to describe the annulus, or annular zone. " Band" is used to describe the darker zonate region of the pileus.

Ok. I see. Thanks.
So back to the question. Do other non active pans have the band also?

Other hygrphanous species of Panaeolus (and Panaeolina)can have bands as well. Typically cintctulus bands are darker, and as far as I can tell, mostly visible while the mushroom is still fresh.

That's what everyone is here for. Most of the people on here have a true love for fungi, and will help anyone that is showing an interest in mushrooms. Plus, we don't want anyone to eat something they shouldn't. If ya hang around long enough and put in some effort, you might just find yourself addicted to fungi as well. It's quite the magical little world.
