In July 1977, Marley was found to have a type of malignant melanoma under the nail of one of his toes. Contrary to urban legend, this lesion was not primarily caused by an injury during a football match in that year, but was instead a symptom of the already existing cancer. R.I.P the Honorable Robert Nesta Marley. He's brought more joy to my life than almost anything. Turned me on to the wide world of reggae, picked me up when I'm down, and I like to think made me a kinder person overall.
Man do I love me some old Bob. He could croon with the best of them

odd, I've been in new mexico for the past mouth and I've never heard so much reggae in my life from the locals. I just downloaded some reggae, funny how it falls on the day of his death.
Thought I'd share.

Was just bumping this in the car. If this doesn't make you feel good on a sunny day then I feel bad for you.
Oh and I know it's Pete Tosh singing, but Bob's singing background I'm pretty sure. Kinda weird how it has the same opening almost as "Simmer Down"

Sad stuff. I really wish he had just cut the damn toe off. His music and spirit definitely live on though. Get to go see his son, Ziggy Marley, in Telluride in July.
