Capturing Wild Bees

Say your friend had a wild beehive on his property that you wanted to take over to yours...how would one go about such a task?

depends on the location of the colony, if it's in the hollow of a tree it's
as easy as waiting until night, nailing some screen over the hole and cutting
the tree above and below the colony. move it to where you want it and have
yourself a baited hive ready so you can try and lure them into it. smoking
the colony helps to make the place uncomfortable for them

if it's in a wall or something then you'll have a larger challenge but
typically it's about making them a much more inviting home and discouraging
them from going back to there they were and then removing the wax, brood and
honey so you can reintroduce it to the colony in their hive

Romans wrote extensively on this subject. If you need to find the hive go to wear the bees feed and capture several of them. release them one at a time and follow them home.

if you start to smell bannanas things are about to take a turn for the unpleasant.
