So, if I were to change my view on a position multiple times when it suited me and I come upon a view that you like- you would praise me? Especially if I had a history of being less than honest and a history of pandering.

I'd say you saw the light. I'd say a couple of your neurons communicated. I'd think maybe you stopped smoking that stuff.

If he wasn't doing it seemingly because it's politically expedient, maybe he'd deserve some credit.
He's a hack attempting to win re-election.

Ok, well that certainly explains some things. You are the type that just blindly believes anyone that tells you something that you want to hear. Even when they are so blatantly lying.

I think he has always tried--from "these are not red states, these are not blue states, these are The United States" to today--he's always courted reason, bipartisanship, and cooperation. I think You-lie Waterloo Republicans have always met his open hand of cooperation with the closed fist of hate (and equally closed mind). Right here, some of you call his politics, insofar as they are aligned with your own, pandering. Republicans hate so much they will not cooperate with President Obama, even when they agree with him.

Again, the man apparently agrees with you! You hate him. Therefore, he must be lying. This is classic cognitive dissonance! Ha!

It is possible to like the policies, yet dislike the hackery involved.
Both sides do the same, just at different times.
And as far as I can see, he's never tried. Everything he does comes across as political maneuverings, like gay marriage. The man's despicable.

Interesting. He supports both sides here by on the one hand saying he is in favor of it, and on the other hand staying he will leave it to the states to decide. Would you have more respect for him if he just made it legal? Of course not, you'd hate him just as much if not more. No matter what approach he takes, Republicans will just say "NO" to Obama.

Aside from the fact that I just don't much give a shit about homo marriage, it is the mind numbing hypocrisy with which he applies his states' rights argument.

You mean the same Obama who doesn't respect states rights on pot or immigration? That Obama?
I don't hear him speaking out for states rights on either of those issues. How about states rights and health care?
I don't hate him, I hate his policies and his pandering.

I discredit him for casually expressing his changed views immediately after Biden opened up a media circus. If he genuinely had already changed his mind, and had genuinely intended on declaring this sometime before the convention, it's hard to imagine him shrugging his shoulders just because Biden said his own opinion on the matter and saying "Yeah well I guess now's the time". I imagine that people are calling him a liar, not because he doesn't actually believe it, but because he's lying about his intentions of mentioning it before the convention and his story about changing his mind a few months before hand and telling just a couple of people about it.

He lied?
-------------------- "People convince themselves of their own lies, becoming victims of their own inventions as they begin to direct their lives by standards of behavior, ideas, feelings, or instincts which do not correspond to their inner reality. What is truly serious in this matter is that the individual loses all points of reference regarding what comprises truth, and what comprises lies. He becomes used to considering as true only that which is convenient for his personal interests; everything that is in opposition to his self-esteem or in conflict with already established prejudices, he considers false."

What sucks about this nonsense is that Obama has a completely loyal media to back him. Its a miracle that some Americans can see through the heavy media bias at all.

Another perfect example is that Osama killing. The media was praising his boldness and courage; yeah, when 90% of the people want you to do something and you do if after a bunch of hemming and hawing- that's courage!

I believe Romney had a great line about that. He said even Jimmy Carter would have ordered the hit.

See now, I consider the OBL assassination a bizarre theatrical murder, and Obama, obviously, a participant in that murder.
Romney saying he'd be a murderer, too, given the opportunity, further evidences and underscores the decadence and insanity of American political culture.
This country is run by psychopaths.
