My Retirement from the Shroomery.... * 1
    #16209215 - 05/10/12 12:01 PM (1 year, 13 days ago)

Ythan, Geo, RR and other beloved Admins, Mods and members...
I'm sorry that I haven't had the chance to do this sooner.
I was sick again with some health problems, personal problems with my son, and had another computer crash on me.
I have decided to Retire from the Shroomery.
I feel that I just don't have the time anymore in my life to continue helping people learn how to grow mushrooms.
It was a pleasure to help here for so many years!~
And I have fond memories and many friends from my years here.
Joe contacted me and told me to pop in and tell everyone what is going on with me.

My health...
I have been fighting with my high blood pressure for many years.
I almost had another heart attack or the possibility of having a stroke, because it was so damn high, a few years back.
It has gotten better in the past 6 months.

Recently I was bleeding internally...
which scared the crap out of me.
They ruled out Cancer, thank God!~
I'm having a Colonoscopy soon, to make sure that I'm ok.
They think that my intestines were infected and that my body has cleaned itself out.
I hope that is what happened.

I had some issues with my son...
with Johnny Law.
Fighting and putting a few kids in the hospital!~
So I have been dealing with alot of legal crap with him.
He is 18 now, so maybe he will join the Shroomery now.
lolzz

I miss you guys and I wish you the BEST!~
I'll try and stop in once in awhile and say hello.
: )
Much <3,
Road

Oh man, I'm so sorry to hear this! I totally understand your decision, but what a loss for the site.

It sounds like you really have a lot on your plate at the moment and I think you're doing the right thing by focusing on yourself and your family. You've contributed so much over the years that new members can probably just search your old posts and get answers for most of their questions. But it's really sad to lose such a helpful, friendly, and knowledgeable member of the community. I try to keep an eye on Google results for "shroomery", and one thing I've noticed over the years is that you are one of the very few members who are consistently recommended by name when people have mushroom questions on other sites. You've definitely made a lasting impression and I hope you feel pride and satisfaction at all you've accomplished.

But I'd also like to say, I hope you don't feel obligated to maintain a high level of involvement just to use the site. If you never want to answer a question again and just turn off your PMs and kill time in the Veteran's Lounge or the Pub, you've more than earned your "retirement". I'd be thrilled to simply have you around. Either way, I hope you'll stay in touch and let us know how you're doing, and I wish you the very best in overcoming the challenges that you're facing. In practical terms, if there's every anything I can help you with (like if you need a working computer or something), please just let me know.

It's been an absolute pleasure man. Thank you so much for all you've done for the site over the years. You've definitely earned your place in the annals of Shroomery history (heh, I said annals).

Thank you for the kind words, Ythan!~
: )

I do feel pride in helping so many people learn how to grow mushrooms!~

I still believe if God made it...
it isn't a drug, and that man should use it in moderation.
I truely believe that magic mushrooms were made for man's spiritual journey.
I know that they helped me with my Spiritual Path!~
I believe that marijuana was made for medical purposes...
and thank God, that it is starting to be validated now!~

I have much love and respect for the Admins, Mods and many members of the Shroomery...
I will pop in and visit more!~

I'd like to personally thank you Ythan, Geo, RR, and Thor for always having my back!~
I respect each of you very much!~
I know the Shroomery is in good hands with the likes of you guys!~

It was a pleasure serving and helping here!~

I tried my best not to be biased in any of my decisions when I was a Moderator here...
I tried my best to defuse the Vendor Wars, back in the day!!!!!
: )

And thank you for the offer to help me with a computer!~
That is very sweet of you!!!!!
I was able to pick up a very good computer from a local guy that builds computers...
for a very reasonable price!~
: )

much <3 to you Ythan!~

Would you be interested in some guidance regarding your health issues? I can hook you up with some incredible healers RoadKill. PM me if you decide to return to check up on comments and your interested in listening to what I have to say. No pressure, it's completely up to you. I've learned not to push it on people if they're not into it but high blood pressure is easy once you discover/determine the underlying condition tripping you over.

You were a good teacher to me in the past, this is for sure. I used to love reading what you put out there even if it was just laying smack! yeah, you laid some smack on me too once but i deserved it. yeah, you were the first to bitch slap me but you never warned me, or pointed me, you just said, "chill the fuck out!" and locked the thread. I've learned a lot since then and even more, more recently hence the handle, Emmanuel Goldstein...

Wow. I too am sorry to see this. You were one of the first people here that really made a difference in my enjoyment of the site.

Good luck to you.
