The last three years i've been telling myself I should go; tickets are so ridiculously cheap and there's even tekno on the other side of the lake.
I should go can't say with certainty; if I do i'll bump up this thread again in a few months

I have heard of Boom festival...Sounds like a gnarly ol' time. About how many people, would you say, attend Boom? What is the music line up like, is it mostly trance of all sorts or is it diverse through out the spectrum of EDM/IDM?
I will be attending the Symbiosis Gathering at Pyramid lake in Nevada, during the solar eclipse in May. Symbiosis is similar to Boom I suppose, but smaller as far as the crowd goes, around 10,000 heads give or take.
I guess Symbiosis, as well as The Do Lab, will be part of and contributing to the Boom festival this year.
Quote:
We rise up and band together in an environment filled with creativity, inspired play, music and new understandings. Lightning in a Bottle, Boom Festival, and Symbiosis Gathering have been creating intentional spaces that inspire and align our souls, allowing us to go deeper to light the candle of our consciousness so we share it with humanity. For two weeks in May, beginning with a solar eclipse at Symbiosis, we will celebrate the light of life and shine forth into Memorial Day weekend at Lightning in a Bottle.
With these two two events, west coast festival culture offers an opportunity to share moments with one another and find how to be the change we wish to see in the world. Our brothers and sister in Portugal will carry the flame through the summer at Boom Festival in July, where members of The Do LaB, the Lucent Temple and Symbiosis will also be participating.
Join us as we make connections, experience peak moments, and participate in the awesome beauty of the universe.

Thumbs up on that idea! I already have my boom ticket, I got in January, I'll definately be there!
How could we organize a Shroomery gathering there? Maybe we could all wear white t-shirts and draw a mushroom on with a marker or something. If we all wore them on the first day of the festival, july 28th, we would eventually run into eachother..

Well there are gonna be too many people, we probably won't be paying attention to who's wearing a mushroom t-shirt (besides there will probably be many people wearing that kind of clothes )
Maybe we could set a day & time and say let's meet at the healing area at 6pm or some other place.. Depends on how many shroomerites are ok with doing that too!

Well travel-wise. I do realise that once there it'll all be one giant family, and hugs, tokes and bared genitals all round.

haha sortof, i went for a nekkid swim several times each day, that was high up on my priorities list and will be again this year.
i am going there with two friends who have never been to a psy event of this size before, it will be quite the mindshock for them haha. took one of them to ozora for the last weekend last year and he literally fell in love with it.
so yeah, not even 3 months now
maybe we should really start thinking about a mini shroomery gathering haha

We'll totally have a gathering.
I've never been to a psy event like this either, but I have travelled to the edge of oblivion and seen the plasmatic waves collapsing off the far wing of the milky way, so nothing's gonna mindshock me, not even fat balding guys with neon dreads.

No, probably to Madrid, I bought the bus tickets from/to Barajas. I was also thinking of checking out Madrid for a day or two after the festival.

AMBIENT HAS EVOLVED. ITS INCARNATION HAS BEEN DEFINED BY A NEW CONCEPT, YET ITS SOUL CONTINUES TO PROJECT THAT UNDISPUTED SENSE OF JOURNEY THROUGH PIONEERING AND INGENIOUS SOUNDSCAPES; ACCENTUATED BY TOTAL COMFORT, EXQUISITE SCENOGRAPHY AND CREATIVE GARDENS.
Welcome to the world of Ambient. Whether you are passionate about chill-out or seek simple stillness for contemplation on sound, this is the place to be… Surrounded by a pristine lake in a brand new location, this is an inspiring new adventure for Boom’s historic Ambient area. Here, music is stripped down to its bare spirit. Created with love, it buzzes with that undeniable warm, fuzzy feeling given by a pure, sweet bass line as the sounds of dub, ambient trance, psydub and ethnic ambience fractalise with the environment. This is a journey through the evolution of sound. It is a journey spawned from personal experience, exploration, curiosity and adventure. Programmed with an evolutionary edge, longer DJ sets and concerts provide that true sense of journey; and as Boom gradually passes us by, we begin to feel a sensation akin to drifting through the contours of timelessness and space.
DJ SETS AND LIVE ACTS ANDREI (POR) ASHIRVAD (Sangita Music – UK/IND) ASTROPILOT (Altar Records – RUS) CHILLUMAFIA (Liquid Frequency – POL/IND) COSMOSOPHY (Elestial Music – UK/ZA) DJ HIGH (POR) DJ SHAHAR (Aleph Zero – ISR) ELVE (Virtual Records – UK) FLOATING MACHINE (POR) HATAKEN (Zabtone Recs – JAP – 6H LIVE CONCERT w/ guest musicians) HENRIK (Electrikdream Records – POR) JOHNNY BLUE (Mikelabella Records – CYP) KANGDING RAY (FRA/GER) KLIMENT (Electrikdream Records – BUL) KONPIUTA (Igloo Records – CHE) LIESE (Psytraveller.net – GER) MASTER MARGHERITA (Peak Records – CHE) MIMICOF (Progressive Form – JAP) MIXMASTER MORRIS (UK – SPECIAL BOOM 6H AMBIENT SET) NEW COMPOSERS (RU) NOVA (ULTIMAE RECORDS – ITA) PINEAL & ORGANIC SHAPES (Blue Hour Sounds – ITA – BOOM 4H CONCERT) PRISMA (Dark Prisma – ARG) SAMADHI (Rão Kyao and Ruca Rebordão) (POR) SARANA (FIN) SOFUS FORSBERG(Mindwaves Music – DAN) STAR GAZING WITH SONA (FRA/AUS/TUR) TENGRI (Peak Records – MKD) THE EBERTBROTHERS (Mindwaves Music – GER) THE POSITRONICS (POR) TOR.MA IN DUB (BEATS’N'PIECES – MEX) VOID CONTROLER (ITA)
That sounds fucking incredible. I'm jealous of you European shroomerites right now. And that's only the ambient portion of the setlist!
