I'm sure the O. Chem lab at the university had the equipment to make the drugs.  Seems like a fishy study to me.  Needs to be tested against a placebo.  I would like to read it once published though.

The scale did say that weight but I'm guessing the vial weighed 10.271. .02 x 5=.1 .1x10=1 50 doses per g. 2 g's= 100 doses. The vials I have dealt with generally weighed around that.

Good study to give psychs some good exposure although I too was shocked at that price.  :FattyNoneck: How you gon make sure they don't think they can fly an jump outta window now

I am a 17 year old, 6'2, attractive, well-liked spoiled rich boy who has always been good at things, always made good grades, always taken the harder classes, and always worked my ass off in sports(football is the family tradition).... But never felt good about myself.  My lack of self esteem resulted in people feeling that I tried too hard and a general lack of popularity or interest from any of my peers.  My entire life I've felt like I had to live up to my big 12 football recruit brother or my West Point graduate older brother. My disgust with my own life manifested it in my getting myself kicked out of school, losing my gpa, and then getting arrested for a felony as a juvenile; sadly, this seemed the step before suicide in my then useless life.  But after an experience that seems to have come directly from god, I can say I am at peace.  'some guy I know' began growing 'his' own magic mushrooms, but didn't tell any of his friends who he smoked pot with regularly, and whom he knew would not mind knowing. He grew them in his closet without anybody knowing, and slowly grew attached to the basic beauty that lies in a substrate and a Mycelium block in itself.  Then whenever 'he' ate them, he felt a connection with time and the world, something that made every anxiety that had become to define his life disappear.  I am now focusing violently well on my acting career, as well as my body and well being.  I studied and scored a solid 30(I think I can do better! ;D) on my ACT aptitude test, and am content on going to college and studying Mechanical engineering.  I have quit smoking and drink rarely as well, not because I criticize those who do, but simply because I am so 'high on life'(I never understood that meaning until now!).  The long lasting effects of this incredible, ancient drug on a truly intellectual mind can be INCREDIBLE.  I'm researching now the world's most successful people's usage of such substances(bill gates, Steve Jobs, pretty much every actor and music artist).  Thanks to those beautiful Equadorian Fungi, I am now free of all anxieties, and have come to realize that anxieties serve no purpose in life but to bring people down.  I can focus on everything that 'god' or whatever force existed before the big bang had me born with.  I am now truly glad this substance is illegal, because I don't feel like those without enough self respect, dignity, or courage to do what they feel is best regardless of a useless law deserve this level of enlightenment.

They show the weight. 12.3g or something. The price isn't too outrageous imho. I'm not rich by any means, but I can see how they'd arrive at 12k.

And that's only $120 for 5 months of relief for that one patient. I've known people that take zombie pills at $10 a day, and they don't get too much real-world resolution to their problems from it imo. And forget the 5 months part for a bit. If that patient only got 5 hours of peace of mind, that's more than some patients get after trying dozens of conventional medications and/or decades of therapy. I think that this is a pretty neat study. It shows that there's potential medicinal value, and that it's a legitimate field to study.

Studies like this are also important because you get people who appear to be 100% against the usual image of druggies. You can ask someone who's been in a psychedelic therapy session what their favorite drug is: mushrooms or lsd or mdma, etc. Last time they took it: 1967. Number of times they took it: once. Do they wanna try it again: mmm, no that's ok. But you said it's your favorite: yup, it definitely is. ...The fuck? O_o

As far as being synthetic... *sigh*
Natural isn't always better. I'm sure somewhere they sell some natural and organic arsenic or chlorine. That's good enough proof for me. There's more important things to look at with a drug than if it's synthetic. Terrence McKenna goes over some of these, like LD10 vs active dose.

@ jonyshin
In the future you might not want to post your life's story on a site that's all about psychedelics and mushrooms. Especially if that's your real name.

Arsenic and chlorine are practically edible compared to some of the things in nature.  7 milligrams of alpha-amanitin from death caps is a deadly amount.  Natural asbestos rocks.  Poison ivy.  Cone snails.  Crude oil.

I wouldn't trust mother nature any further than I could throw her.

hehe, I just like giving that example because an element is about as simple as it gets.

Locally grown organic Botox anyone? xD

Psilocybin(pure)is effective and safe and without the extra alkaloids and other chems found in shrooms. Even Sabina could not tell the difference. There are other synthetic safe psilocybin analogs esp 4 aco dmt(acopsilocybin). But I agree mushrooms are far cheaper.

Did anyone else notice that they said that cocaine was in the same schedule as psilocybin, heroin, and meth? Despite that, this was a very good, succinct video.

FUCK THIS SYNTHETIC PSILOCYBIN!!!

IT'S NOT EVEN REAL!!!

YOU NEED TO USE THE REAL MUSHROOMS TO GET THE REAL EXPERIENCE....

ISOLATING CHEMICALS IS A HORRIBLE THING....

IN MUSHROOMS THERE IS MORE THAN JUST PSILOCYBIN IN THEM WHICH ALL TOGETHER MAKE THE EXPERIENCE

YOU CAN'T GET THAT SAME EXPERIENCE BY ISOLATING ONE CHEMICAL

FUCK THESE DUMBASS SCIENTISTS THAT ARE MAKING THIS SHIT, JUST GROW SOME DAMN MUSHROOMS YOU TARDS!!!

Maria Sabina disagreed with you.
But what does she know about mushrooms? :smirk:
