Dude, you need a reality check. The fact that nobody on this forum agrees with you should be an indicator that its not just "rich conservative republicans" who think Zimmerman seems to be not guilty, but rather a collection of many individuals with very different viewpoints and political stances.
Just so you know, Zimmerman's father is going to take out a second mortgage to pay for bail... how is it that you think Zimmerman is from a wealthy family? Just because he was pursuing a career in law doesn't mean that he was very wealthy to begin with. You should know that anyone who tries hard has the ability to make a great living out of their life in this country, which is what makes this country great.
Another great thing about our country is a right to a fair trail, and innocence until proven guilty. As some fine soul already pointed out, if this had been something that happened to yourself then you would have a very different perspective.
Anywho, if you would join the debate with facts and well thought out perspectives rather than basing all of your posts on what appears as merely naive, superficial emotions then maybe we would be more accepting of your views around here but until then we're just going to think your a big goof.

I wonder what you think about the defense letting Zimmerman on the stand.
Risky move IMO, but it went pretty well for them, unless he contradicted evidence we have not seen.

According to CNN Zimmerman did contradict himself when he apologized to the Martin family. He stated in court Friday morning that he thought Trayvon was "A little younger than me..." while in the 911 call he acknowledged that Trayvon looked like a teen.
BUT... I think its ridiculous that he tried apologizing and he was immediately bombarded by claims of his statement being disingenuous for a minor discrepancy..

It may have.
It looks like it did.
But it could be... and likely is, a strategic move. He didn't seem like a liar though. And the defense has the balls to put him on the stand at this point. This move was unique and risky. Seems it worked, unless Zimmerman put his foot in his mouth.

It was inevitable anyway...He's not going to prove self-defense without taking the stand...

Yeah, that was a slick move. It really could have backfired since it did open him to some mild cross examination. The only slight issue with his statement was saying he thought Trayvon was almost the same age as he was. On the 911 call he said Trayvon was a teen. But that is a relatively small detail. Hardly a smoking gun.
