Serenity indeed. Love the creek shot. Looks like an area I'd be willing to get lost in for a few days by the way ever try dropping a line in there?
A distance shot from the habitat I found my most recent subs. Typical terrain in the northern hills
 Let's zoom in a little

Pity about all that Blackberry. Looks like some good habitat apart from that.

Two different patches. Both are growing from very rich woody soil, many gum trees around and nice patches of grass.

Has anyone found anything growing in any of the various types of bracken we have here? The ones in the picture i would hazard a guess at being Pteridium esculentum(The tougher darker one with no hairs on the fronts) and Calochlaena dubia(The lighter softer looking one next to the creek).
From what ive seen P. subaeruginosa seem to prefer the grassier type areas to the aforementioned bracken, although this might vary with local genotypes, just curious about substrate preferences i suppose.

Cheers to Gnome

lord of the gnomes said: regarding my talk the otherday on stipe and gill color and also pileus i have some photos of some.
you will notice that the stipe is a bare white and same with the gills, this is quite usually the case for fresh fungi, however like i said different conditions can change this when young (ie if they get damaged, windy day etc) this does not mean they wont blue when you take them home, if handled right there should be minimal bluing but remember you are looking for signs of Psilocybin oxidization (bluing) intense oxidization will be almost black and that can be bad because you have handled it roughly and the remaining Psilocybin has oxidized and will disintegrate leaving the fungi virtually useless. i will make more of these showcasing Subs at different drying points, bluing, gill color and so forward.
some nice pins

nice bell cap

and those mysterious Subs i mentioned before, only a photo of them in a patch but i will take some further shots of the caps etc... they are a very different Sub variant to any i have seen and only grow in this one part of the hills every year. now please note im not claiming to have found new species but they are very different indeed, sometimes the thickness of the stipe is greater than the pileus and can go wavier than any other Sub ive seen.

i hope this can help some of you n00bs out, and if so a good rating never goes a stray peace Gnomes

Wow. These need to be printed. Very different looking subs.
Since they are looking very consistently different you should take prints and try to start a big patch. Maybe even claim them as your own strain!
