I woke up 15 minutes early today so I would have time to harvest, and it took 45 minutes! And I'm still not done! I usually get to work around 7:35, not 7:55. I think tonight, I'm going to tip out my tub to harvest these side pins.

If I try to grab them by reaching down the sides, it will get messy and I'll end up ripping out chucks of my substrate. Plus, I'll be away most of the weekend. It's probably best that I run a full sweep of the tub tonight and do a 4 hour soak this evening, then drain overnight. I can't soak tomorrow or all weekend because I won't be home for a 4 hour stretch. It's either that or put off the soak until Sunday. Your thoughts?

The bags I bought were a little small for this tub, so I never used them. Besides, if you have an effective way to remove your cake from the tub, such as putting an empty tub on top of your sub and flipping both, you can get the side pins easily, as long as you harvest all the top ones first. Then, I get added bonus of side mushrooms. No, I don't think I will use a bag next time either. This is the way mushrooms are going to want to grow naturally, right? Why tell them they can't grow there?

I harvested my side pinners tonight. They may not look pretty, but they'll take you where you need to go!

A good way to tell if your to dry is if the stems look slighty cracked and lacking surface moisture. If your to wet your fruits will most likely lack firmness and be somewhat mushy

Final weigh in for the first flush is 91.9 grams dry. I already harvested 4 shrooms from the second flush this morning. Not seeing a mass of pins or anything, but I can be patient.
