Plan on getting a new guitar

I posted this in the Music section also but thought i would post in the pub for a little more help since more people frequent the pub than there..
I used to play guitar a TON in high school and I ended up selling mine like a dumbass and now regret it
I am going to be getting some cash soon and want to hit up Guitar Center for a new acoustic. I will only have about $400-$500 to spend and can not go over that.
I love the sound of classical and flamingo guitar styles and would like to get something like that. I also really like the sound of bluegrass which my grandpa play's. I will probably take him along for some help also.
My question is what is a quality acoustic in that price range that will have good tone and stay in tune good. I know it is a low budget and I won't be able to get the best guitar out there but I know damn well I should be able to find a decent one in that price range.
Any suggestion's and/or recommendation's would be greatly appreciated
I won't be going to look for a week or 2 yet so I figured I would see what you guy's have to offer first

For $500 you can get a pretty good guitar. Are you looking for a acoustic-electric or just an acoustic? You can get a nice Takamine G series new yorker for $500 You can get a breedlove passport for $350 I found a good deal on a Epiphone Masterbuilt advanced Jumbo for $500

I dont know that much about acoustic guitars so I can't recommend specific brands; however, I can tell you will get way more for your money looking on the used market. There are steals to be had if you look around, and it makes way more sense buying a used professional grade instrument over a brand new intermediate instrument.
I'd recommend going to GC and trying everything and seeing what feels right for you. Then shop around. If you do buy new, try to haggle on the price.
good luck

Martin acoustics are basically the best you can get. I have my eye on one thats $600 but they have some for a bit less. if you're lucky with searches try and find an old harmony. gibsons are out of your price range and anything else isn't too worth it. 90% of takamines are overrated.

Martins are great but the lower priced models just make you want a real one. Gibson isn't out of the price range. Just head to a pawnshop and see what they have to offer. Sometimes you can pick up a nice Gibson for a great price. Just make sure it isn't counterfeit.

If you're set on getting a nylon string, ignore this, but if you're not http://www.seagullguitars.com/ make really good guitars for the price in my experience. They tend to be in the 400-500 range so they might be what you're looking for.
Good action, good tone, just all around solid guitars.

A Taylor for $500? Wishful thinking.
DEFINITELY go used though. It would be silly not to.

I got a fender jazzmaster, it's got my recommendation. I also used to have a gibson les paul studio, thats a great guitar too. the two are quite different but i loved em both.
this isn't a picture of my jazzmaster but its the same color scheme:

haha whoops, guess i shoulda read the actual post, didn't see that you wanted an acoustic or that you had a budget of 4-500. I've never owned a particularly nice acoustic guitar so I can't really help you there.

For acoustic I'd recommend either a baby Taylor or a Epiphone Hummingbird with a good initial set-up. The Taylor is about $400 I think and the Hummingbird is ~250-300. I personally have a cheap Epihpone DR-100 which I got for $100, it sounds real nice though for being cheap.
If you want electric get a Mexican strat. I love mine. They're $500.

Takamine G Series are beautiful guitars, but I'm biased as it was my first guitar.
I went for an Alvarez my second go. It got destroyed by some drunk fuck at a party two months ago. So now I'm rocking a cheap Epiphone.
If you're serious about music get a Takamine, and if you can afford it get a Martin.
Love guitar. It's my life and love. Love it more than any woman.
