Man I hear what your saying....this forum does have some real snobs. Most of the people here are good folks who try and help newbies. The information you were putting out was more than likely already on here somewhere...I have found right before I ask a question I seem to find the answer with the search function. I have seen some coarse replies and some that well....were just damn nasty ever from mods. People like you know are not the same and often have over time found a way to convey and communicate in their own way. I know with all that said I have not even come close to finding a place where this much information and real life application of teks is present. Bury the hatchet man And stick around.....I know in a few months things will have a different look to it.....oh and to all the post snob...I got a hot pm for you...let me know.

No ofence, but you need to take constructive criticism better and not get so butthurt.
RR may have been blunt, but he was right. I would be blunt to the point of being rude too if I had to correct misinformation 30 times a day.

I've had a thread locked and it is like a slap to the face.....but I deserved it and didn't start a new thread bitching about it!!! RR knows his shit and has had to deal/help with newbs like myself for years. The people on this forum have been nothing but kind and informative to me and want to help, but if you come across like you have, you will get the shit end of the stick. Be positive and take your lumps son!!!

I agree indoor vs nature is night and day and 75% of my knowledge and experience comes from the latter. I've experimented inside, on and off, for a few years now. Mostly for "novelty" purposes as mother nature blesses FL almost year round (depending on location and weather) Funny how everyone commenting this thread is just as new of a member as me. Never have I, nor will I comment negatively to anyone's personal quest for knowledge. Start your own thread if you wish to be negative and talk trash. Surely no one will read it.. The only person here who I feel is qualified without a doubt to answer my query is RR. He hasn't chimed in yet.. Either he is looking for an answer for the question or is offended by my post. Either way. I'm not here for a popularity contest guys. If you have knowledge to share, great! If not, its cool, as the title of this thread isn't "New members opinions of other new members" I was just saying I had bee.. Actually I'm plain tired of clarifying points that people keep warping out of context. Think what you will.
Imo even if I only helped one person overcome a misconception (shout out to mr.shroomie) it was a success. I just wanted it to help more people and be "perfected" by others with more insight on the subject. You can't fully understand knowledge until you are capable of sharing it. "Teachers often learn more than the student" type thing. I offered what I had learned and some personal insight(which I should've excluded;) with hopes of teaching someone something that may be able to teach me something in return. Good vibes to all. Please take negativity elsewhere

What's that mean buddy?
Lol Glockman. As long as she's not 16 or a man. :P haha I never expected so much bs when I wrote the post. I had just been "leeching" info forever and wanted to give back in a simplified form. Glad like minded people finally chimed in.
To BillB and the other guy, no worries. I'm not going anywhere. I'll just be more meticulous in any future write-ups that I doubt will happen. It was like a slap in the face as I didn't expect things to turn out like this with everyone name calling and what not. (My initial effort after years of studying and I got an F for a few unclear thoughts that I would've much rather elaborated and clarified.) The info is on here a dozen times over. I just wanted a simple read with a lot of "important" data all in one but should've kept personal insight out considering some if it isn't thoroughly tested just maybe something I tried and noticed results one way or the other. ***PM'ing RR this "thread" would have been less confrontational after all .. Lesson learned.*** Peace Gods

What the hell are u talking about? Your not even asking a quEstion.... Your ranting about RR cuz ur little feelings are hurt.. If you asked a valid question you'd get an answer.... In fact asking a question period would be a lot better than telling everybody how its done like you've been doing incorrectly...

Lol. Thanks Doc, (You too are someone whose posts I respect. Cut and dry and not too much nonsense and drama.)
The question was "why are growers instructed to "twist" their crop out yet that exact thing is the cause of fields "drying up" due to mycelium damage?" I tried to cross reference an indoor experiment during FL's rainy season but felt any "results" couldn't be verified as you are looking at variables from two different growth "habitats" so to speak. ie. different water content/delivery, temps, evap., humidity, ms cakes, ms natural dung, etc, etc. Maybe if I would've put a sgfc in the field?! I don't know. I couldn't think of any reasonable way to control variables. I would test it again if you had a solution but moved almost a year ago and don't have access to the fields anymore. That's why I asked someone who may know or have access to an answer. Also the cause of my dramatic increase in experiments and feeling I should give back finally since I'm here more than ever.. Thanks man!

People arent, any trusted cultivator or anyone with a lot of experience i've ever seen has recommended cutting with a sharp knife. I realize that that is a way to do it but i've never heard anyone recommend it over cutting due to the damage of substrate.... Where are people teaching this stuff to you?

I was originally taught to use a razor or sharp knife in the fields but upon learning indoor teks I found contradicting info as people report "rotting" an all kinds of stuff if cut.
My first few experiments I stuck to the "book" and what I was taught. I noticed slowed growth and spots causing aborts that I damaged. I never personally noticed any "rotting" when I started cutting as reported. I guess I CAN cross reference and did know the answer. Outdoor cutting vs. picking and indoor cutting vs. picking should not be cross verified. Rather evaluated as 2 scenarios in 2 different conditions. Both of which show signs of adverse effects. Thanks for the clarification man. I didn't wanna say one way or the other a right or wrong as I can't "prove" it as they're personal observations. I can be overly analytical at times but I promise the intentions were good.. I appreciate you coming around and actually trying to help. That's all I initially asked for.
*** Note to mods. Feel free to lock this post. *** Seriously. I think it has served it's purpose. I got my answer and apologize for the drama it caused. I meant no disrespect to anyone. I simply felt disrespected and didn't take the "higher" path. I AM human.

The "stump" or base of the stem reverts back to mycelium a while after being cut, it will not rot, that is also misinformation that comes from people repeating what they heard. The same concept applies when cloning a mushroom. You take tissue from the stem of the mushroom, put it on agar and it reverts back to mycelium and starts growing.
