I don't think you will ever get it. I changed my mind. I don't think you are underage. I think you are an older man who doesn't realize what people can find on the internet.

For sure. I agree 100%. Assuming you are safe is the bast way to stay safe.

More than likely you are ok. I was just doing worst case and you handed the information to someone who knew what they were doing. Probably didn't happen. Just wanted to scare you into taking some initiative. Did not seem to work. Tomorrow. sheesh.

You are probably going to need this sometime in future. Probably not over this, but you seem to just be waiting and hoping something bad doesn't happend. Good luck with that.

For future reference assume everyone on the internet is trying to steal everything you own and give your kids aids.

yeah nothing to worry about at all dude. i spoke to my bank. as i previosuly said, my account is locked down and he can't do anything with my account as it is. no need to change my account numbers or anything.

furthermore they told me that the crook couldn't do anything with just my account number and name, and even if he had my address and number plates from the photos i sent, again he would need much more info then this to open up any other accounts in my name.

furthermore they said the questions they would ask me on the phone would be such that it would not be possible for anyone who isn't me to answer successfully. i.e. they keep a track of all phone conversations made, and they would ask when was the last time i spoke to them. ofcourse a rogue would not know this. they would ask me what purchases/transactions i have made in the last 7 days, which again, my account is locked down and only i would have access to this. they could ask to send through a code to my phone to ensure that it is me talking to them. tonnes of stuff. and ontop of it all, as i said, the guy would need to have forged documents of birth certificates and drivers licences, all in my name , with valid addresses. i have now changed my address also to where i'm moving in a week, so now even if he does try he will fail.

furthermore, i got him to check my name and accounts with my bank, and he said there was no new accounts/credit lines opened, there were no pending applications or anything. furthermore, he would not be able to open a new bank account in my name at another financial institution because of the same checks and balances on the account, coupled with the fact that it would appear to be highly suspicious that an adult just decides to open their first ever bank account with no prior credit/account history at any institution. even more so if this is done by someone from overseas. the guy on the phone explained it alot better then what i did just now, but basically he said he wouldn't be able to open an account with my bank or another bank without raising red flags.

and you were callin me the retard?

I am willing to bet that your bank was hacked into more than once last year. Nothing is secure.
What don't you get. They won't use the info you gave them to open a new account. They will use that to gather more information.
A year later you get a call telling you that people are coming to reposes the boat you didn't know you had.

Never called you a retard. Just ignorant and passive about security.

i don't see how he can purchase things in my name. my account is just a straight bank account, it has no linked debit or credit cards. my bank withdrawal card cannot be used online. he would have to have either my PIN code, my internet banking code, or my phone banking code. (note my internet code is stored in my virus scanner and does not get typed into the system, so no keylogging can catch my p/w, and i don't use phone banking, but set a password on it to prevent others fraudulently using it).

the bank even said they can do nothing with just an account and name. and even if he has my address, i'm moving house literally in a few days and that has all been changed now as well. he has incorrect info on me now.

actually, funnily enough the guy responded just yesterday to the message i sent him as well, so it turns out he may not even be a scammer. he said he will complete payment tomorow. i still don't believe him and think he is up to something suspicious, but oh well. i'll see how it goes. if he pays the money into my account then i can't really see anything going wrong with that.

Then you would have no problem posting your full name and bank account number here.

What exactly is ACH fraud and how does ACH fraud happen?
Deb Geister: ACH, of course, stands for Automated Clearing House network. An ACH transaction is an electronic funds transfer between bank accounts using a batch processing system. Simply defined, ACH fraud is any unauthorized funds transfer that occurs in a bank account. ACH fraud, unfortunately, is very easy to execute. All the fraudster needs is an account number and a bank routing number to execute the fraud. In the simplest form, the fraudster uses your bank account and routing numbers to initiate payments for purchases or to pay debt by giving these numbers to the desired vendor.

damn.... thats the type of stuff i'm worried about obviously. but as far as i'm aware, and the bank confirmed this, my account is locked down. as i said, any transfers out of my account need to be authorized by some sort of password or code. i don't know mucha bout the ACH thing, also i'm not in America, so things may be different.

anon 6 he didnt ask me to send it overseas -- but i'm saying, if he's a scammer and is from overseas, it will be even more difficult for him to open accounts in my name.

I don't think he can open bank accounts with your name and bank info. Most checks have your name, routing number and account number. He could print checks. They would probably need ssn, photo ID, etc. I think that ACH fraud is the most likely problem you may incur, and that is protected against fraud for individuals. Also needs authorization as your bank stated.

Google more info on ACH fraud if you are worried.
