Oyster pf tek jars too dry

I followed the pf tek instructions to the letter and bought my spore syringe from a trusted vendor. The jars' first signs of growth were really late in the game. All the water has evaporated out of the jars, they have stopped growing, and that's a shame.
What are my options? What I've thought of is:
I could eat the oyster mycelium. Does it taste good? Or spend an hour creating sterile water (boil water, suck into syringe, wait to cool), squirt some in each jar, and maybe end up with nothing to show for the work I put in due to contamination. I think I've about decided pf tek sucks; there's nothing perfect about it. That's why I'm trying out oyster mushrooms in rye berry jars.

i just prepared some brf cakes and also followed the direction as well. i noticed water wasnt pulling to the corner when you tilt it with the amount of water they tell you to mix it with.... so i added almost double to get it to fnially puddle a little bit.... look good to me..

There is no way you followed the directions to the letter. That is if you used the Correct PF Tek. First they should of been Short Half Pint Jars. There should of been a dry Vermiculite layer, which I don't think yours has? Oh and the inside rim wasn't even wipped from wet BRF/Verm. Which now has become a gateway for contaminates to enter.
If everyone wouldn't try and cut so many corners the Tek works each time every times without flaw. I've had 1 contaminated jar out of over 100.

Not available at any local stores in my area.

It has one. You just can't see it because all the water evaporated out so now both layers look the same.

I did that. As the water evaporated, it got lower and lower in size which left particles of vermiculite where the filter used to be.

I didn't cut any corners except for wrong jar shape.

What ratio did you use for the substrate? Low long did you steam or pressure cook and at what psi?
