damn I thought this might have been a good discussion about this but It looks like I was wrong. wasnt expecting the racist bullshit.

I use to grow up in a pretty rough black neighboor hood and there were a few cats who would do it to white folks that came through that werent known or "Fam". I didn't even finish watching the video. Makes my stomach churn. I see this sort of stuff way too often around here. Usually ends up with gun shots though. Gotta love my neighborhood.
This happened in downtown Bmore. From the looks of it, it's not far from Charles. When I lived in Baltimore I never really saw that much violence there unless I went into west Baltimore which I was rarely dumb enough to do.
For the person who said it was his fault for being alone and unarmed -- are you serious? If he had pulled a gun his chances of waking up the next day would have been drastically reduced. It wasn't one on one or even three on one. That was a big group with an obvious penchant for violence.
As for being alone, safety in numbers is obviously the ideal but it's not always possible. I'm a 25 year old white female who weighs about 125lbs. I live in a sketchy neighborhood surrounded by bars. I don't want to walk home alone at night but sometimes it's the only option. I carry a small knife and pepperspray but that wouldn't help me or most anyone against a mob like that. And if what happened to that guy happened to me, it sure as fuck would not be my fault because I wasn't holding a gun.

Did you see the video? He approached the guy who sucker punched him with his hands down, and most of the people causing violence were chicks much smaller than he.
You carry a knife or pepper spray but don't see the point of a gun?
An experienced marksman could have diffused that situation in an instant. Believe me.

I don't think it should be racial. The mob could have been white, black, spanish, whatever else. It's about people who get kicks off of being violent and making people into victims.

I got a black friend that moved here from Baltimore, he says he has been blown away by how oblivious people are to race here in Houston compared to Baltimore. I guess he was expecting Texas to be more racist.

Those kids get their values from gangs and similarly compromised peers. Now people make huge deals out instances trying to say it was race when it is not race, it is the economic circumstances involved.

LOL, read my post before this post and I address this issue similarly to you. It is environment, but their are plenty of people who grow up in economic disparity but still manage to become good people. This people are not kids, they looked to be 18-22 years of age. They have seen enough of the outside world through media and natural human interaction to perceive what is right and wrong but chose to go another way. Am I suppose to be victimized because of it?
And your right, in a similar situation I may have ended up the same way, but when i'm doing this acts I know are wrong, I will not be surprised when A gun gets pulled and I get laid out. Thats the life I chose.
Would that mob not run from the cops if they came? They would, because they understand its wrong but choose to do it anyways.

I believe that happened in front of the Baltimore court house. Its very close (like a few blocks) to "power plant live" which is a very popular tourist attraction.
