First fucking day of work, the dispensary I work at gets raided. Not only that, but I am the one who opens the door to a fucking wave of cops.
Basically, we were in the back eating tommy's, and I hear the door open and start running to the front, thinking it was my friend who was supposed to come back, as soon as I get to the door my two friends in back who are watching the video feed on the camera's yell "oh shit" and then right at that moment I hear "LAPD search warrant" and I unlock the door turn around and put my hands in the air. they obviously fucking tackle me and storm the whole clinic
It was my first day and only me and the co-manager were on site. Fucking scariest moment of my life, I literally almost shit myself. Even though they ID'd themselves as LAPD I couldn't stop but thinking they were D.E.A at first.
Anyways we all got questioned (my other friend walked in mid-raid), they basically have this huge list of questions for us. I guess technically we should know these but they pertained to our status as a co-operative. The owner was away on business (buying weed) and couldn't show up till much after the raid . They ended up taking all the weed we had and throwing in one big trash bag.
It almost brought a tear to my eye, we had this brand new half pound of this god father og and he just threw it in this trashbag with trim and low quality stuff.
Anyways, as employees none of us got arrested. The owner and manager are already meeting with their lawyer and preparing to build a defense. Basically, we got punked on. The cops came in and jacked 1000$+ cash and 4 grand worth of weed, and destroyed 70 brand new clones. They took everything like the gang of fucking armed thieves they are and then left. Luckily we found some they missed (small amounts) and had the sesh of our lifetime hotboxing the clinic after.
Thank god it wasn't DEA. The guy who interviewed me said it was the 45th clinic he has gotten, they rarely end up pressing charges, they basically just get a search warrant if they don't like the way you run business. I would say more but they didn't tell me much as a first day employee.
Fuck man I swear to god I almost fucking shat myself when they came in. I consciously made the decision to hold in the shit

that's is what i was trying to explain.
there are 10x more pot clinics than 7-11's on this particular blvd. They employ over 300 people, what is bad with that? We pay rent, taxes, electricity, etc. I just don't get it. I was so fucking mad

I know how cops are and how theywould love to tear down the door so I unlocked it really quick and then quickly assumed a submissive position, assuming I was going to get tackled

Shitty.
I don't understand why authorities are cracking down so hard on MMJ NOW after the program has been running for so many years. I'm also surprised it was LAPD raiding and not the feds. Maybe they did this at the request of the feds.

I am so glad it was not the feds. I don't know what I would of done if it would have been the dea/irs. seriously man.. fuck.
We will bounce back. The meeting with the lawyer is basically so we can fully substantiate our position as either a co-op or collective, as a apposed to a proprietorship. We are a collective but we they caught us at a bad time. We need to get shit more organized and have every financial record kept up to date to fully qualify and be able to keep off the local cops.
LAPD doesn't raid the local dispensaries that have 200 customers a day and a full on co-op, the pick on the little ones that are just starting up
