RICHMOND, Texas - Information shared with the Fort Bend County Crime Stoppers led to the arrest of four men in connection to a marijuana grow house operation in the Richmond area. The Fort Bend County Narcotics Task Force investigated the reported grow operation throughout the month of March at a home on Carta Valley Lane in the Canyon Gate at the Brazos subdivision. The investigation, based on information submitted to Fort Bend County Crime Stoppers, led task force agents to execute a search warrant around 7 a.m. Friday at the home. Agents found more than 200 marijuana plants with a total weight of 81 pounds, grow lights, scales, water pumps, fans, inverters, and various equipment used to manufacture, package, and sell marijuana. Because of the high concentration of THC in the manufactured marijuana, the finished product was quite expensive and yielded a street value of $325,000. Harris County residents Clay Stephen Wilson, 32, Sammy David Ingle, 36, Andrew Williams Gomez, 22, and James Harry Gates, 28, were arrested and charged with possession of marijuana more than 50 pounds and less than 2,000 pounds, a second-degree felony offense. Gates was also charged with a possession of a controlled substance, a Class A misdemeanor offense. Wilson, Ingle, Gomez and Gates each had bonds of $40,000, with Gates getting an additional bond of $750. All four men posted bail out of the Fort Bend County Jail on Saturday.

6 oz per plant? They must be weighing the whole plant.

So sad. Otherwise law abiding citizens instantly transformed into felons for nothing but growing a few plants. Texas is a great state, but sometimes I really hate the government here.

Me too, I'm considering Cali. Love Texas, and the citizens but I can't stand Rick Perry and low crime tolerance....

I know! It isn't even a dangerous crime to neighbors... It's growing a plant. The guy had no reason to call the crime stoppers other than he's a snitch. There are some situations where I would call crime stoppers though. (Like if I saw someone break into a house, or get shot, etc.) The guy probably reported it for the $100-$500 cash reward depending on what he reported and how much of his info led to the arrests. (Reward money was probably multiplied by 4 because of 4 arrests)
