Macro photography plus additional ID request
    #16078064 - 04/12/12 12:26 AM (1 year, 1 month ago)

Hi, went on a walkabout yesterday and firstly found these two mushrooms in an areal that grows subs. The thing is, they smell exactly the same as subs do, but I've never seen this species before.

Aand here are some multiple time magnification macros from today, just because.

Wait for someone who knows better then me to chime in... but I think it could be an old sun dried psilocybe subaeruginosa. I'm no TI.

"A field guide to Australian fungi"  - Bruce Fuhrer.  Would be my recommendation.

Description seems to list this with a ring and a scaly stipe below the ring.  I couldn't seem to find any reference of these being found in Australia either.

Couldn't resist, bought it! Looks like it will be a $45 well spent.
