Instead of this though, people should just get together and smoke at their local city halls, or the city hall of the nearest big city if they live in a very small town. I'm sure a big enough turnout would bring attention to the cause.

What if this is just an extension of the DEA's revamped-politically-fueled-traditional election-year raids, utilizing the tactic of anonymity AND imitating the Anonymous entity in order to have people freely inclined to expose themselves as subversive to the regimes that be via the already closely monitored privacy joke that is social media?

Anon is probably well infiltrated by intel agencies world wide.
They are not exactly noble either I mean they have attacked alternative media sources "for the lulz" thats not helping the public at all, its causing trouble for free media and helping aid the gov case for regulating and controlling the internet.
and yeah as stated what good is turning a profile green? Laws are bought and paid for, are politicians and law makers going to listen to the pharma industry with their massive payment backhanders to keep weed illegal and thus their monopoly on medecines or a bunch of green profiles on the computer.  It displays a laughable lack of understanding how the real world operates.

I agree i looked all over the web and couldnt find anything except that one page and youtube video. It doesnt seem like this is a legitimate anonymous operation at all even though i wish it was....

This is bullshit. The only thing that matters in war is results. I fail to see how this campaign is going to convince anyone of anything. As people have already stated, the only way to instigate change is to physically decrease the bottom line--if Annonymous really wants to instigate legalization, they should tell people to smoke a bowl instead of buying a pack of cigarettes or mcdonalds or soda or energy drink or starbucks. Get your high from home grown instead of the AMERICAN INDUSTRIAL COMPLEX.

It seems like a highly ineffective way of protesting.
I would never publicly announce any of my recreational drug endorsements, via social media networks (who will sell that information) or in casual conversation. Don't be silly, people. Who says Anonymous is even on your side? It just seems like they're moving to gauge a target audience and chart demographics just to keep you buying shit.
Either way, it seems rather obvious that the government already sees marijuana as an industry and are acting accordingly. Restrict supply, increase demand. Then utilize the big pharmaceutical companies who have pulled patents out on weed (and have been studying it's benefits for years now) to buttress the supply.

May be ineffective- But if this is the anonymous ive grown to read about and learn up on. They have much bigger things behind their belts yet- just wait for phase 2... Im sure it will be something to be remembered.
The tactics may be off- as stated tho awareness of the minds of individuals who do not understand why the legality is the way it is, is just the first step.
The government de-individualizes the citizens, Anon is just trying change attitudes, on a personal level.
