Punctuation Question...
    #16066455 - 04/09/12 07:48 PM (1 year, 1 month ago)

So, I hit a wall here... I'm doing the final edit in a book of mine and I noticed an odd placement of an apostrophe in a section of a writing, which I am having a brain shit as to whether or not it is appropriate...

"The setting sun seducing me unto the fleeing horizon's calm"
Or...
"The setting sun seducing me unto the fleeing horizons calm"

The first feels correct to me and is how I had it...
Which is correct, the previous or the latter?
I've spent the past 20 minutes trying to figure this one out but am having trouble...  :sped:

Help would be deeply appreciated!

"The setting sun seducing me unto the fleeing horizon's calm" is right. The fleeing horizon is the subject and the calm is the fleeing horizon's.

Thank you so much... I don't know why I got so confused, I figured the possessive nature would make it such but then became worried that I was making the horizon plural somehow....

Apostrophes do not indicate plural. Ever. Ever ever ever ever ever.
