I'm gonna go against all the odds and pick the Ottawa Senators.

No probably will get killed against what looks like either Boston or the Rangers.

If they actually do go past the 1st round, I believe they can go deep.

For many reasons I think it will either be the Rangers or Penguins that take the cup.

Rangers: most consistant goalie, and IMO just the best goalie in the nhl for years is lundqvist. Although the rangers dont have ' superstars ' they work hard, and have suprisingly good chemistry. i say suprisingly because they were on a downward slope but now theyve managed first place, constantly proving themselves. Also they continue to upset, and dismain all doubts against the teams theyve played. theyve got the momentum, the determination, the drive. they are very fucking hungry.

Penguins: well to put it simply, malkin stepped up when crosby was out. crosby is back, and it is practically like the beginning of a season for him, as long as he didnt mentally punish himself during his injury, and continues to progess, he will be a key player like always in the playoffs, and his mind will be sharp, and his body will have way less wear - and - tear then anyone else. to be honest, if the penguins want to win the cup, crosby will have to step up and continue being the leader he's always been. doesnt mean malkin should step to the side by no means, but crosby is made for key moments in hockey history as his resumé would show

Detroit wont take the cup home again. if they do, im calling shenanigans.

I think the Pens win it, but only if they can get by the Flyers first, which I don't see them doing. The Flyers have just as much offense, two goaltenders who (when hot, and both enter pretty hot) are really good, and they are a team that wants revenge for the last two times these teams met in the playoffs. I see a tough, tough battle happening, and the ECC coming from this matchup.

I don't see NYR going far, getting eliminated in the first or second. They play Ottawa, who has been stellar compared to expectations, and I see Washington beating Boston so if they make it past the first round, will most likely end up facing Washington (or possibly NJ, but still). Plus it seems that every year a team that suddenly got really really good over the offseason fails in the post season, and I see that team being the Rangers. They don't have enough experience IMO and will stress out too much. Next year maybe.

As for the West, I see the Kings riding Quick to the SCF, or Nashville with their great defense and Rudalov striking often going to the SCF.

Alright so the standings are official

(1)New York vs Ottawa (8)
(2)Boston vs Washington (7)
(3)Florida vs New Jersey (6)
(4)Pittsburgh vs Philadelphia (5)

(1)Vancouver vs Los Angeles (8)
(2)St-Louis vs San Jose (7)
(3)Phoenix vs Chicago (6)
(4)Nashville vs Detroit (5)

Thank god for my Ottawa Senators. The stars have aligned themselves. In order for them not to face Boston they needed to lose their last game, and washington had to win there's and Florida had to have a point in there's.

It all happened. Wooooot. Ottawa vs Rangers, the odds are better for ottawa then against boston.

My predictions:

New York
Boston
New Jersey
Pittsburg

Vancouver
St-Louis
Pheonix
Nashville

But odds are, I'll only have 4 out of 8 right.

1. Rangers
2. Bruins (though I'd prefer the Caps to win)
3. Devils (even if I hate them)
4. Penguins all the way. Our track record against the Flyers is pretty weak right now but we'll bump them out regardless.

1. Canucks
2. Blues
3. Blackhawks
4. Red Wings

Yes, we will, haha. Getting rid of the Flyers will definitely help morale . Either way, it's going to great to watch.

i love this time of the year, hockey is EASILY the best major sport to watch come playoff time (yup better that football)

hockey has perfected the concept of free agency and a salary cap, each time is very competitive with eachother and even a 1 seed vs an 8 seed is never a given, thats why hockey is so fucking awesome this time of the year

Ill take my Bruins again this year, i just wish we had nathan horton cuz hes the man, him and lucic are the bash brothers of the bruins and it sucks he hasnt played since january...fuck aaron rome and the pussy canucks

really didnt wanna play the caps in the 1st round but whatever we are a tough team and i think we will win

im real excited to watch the penguins flyers series too...i fuckig hate the penguins (cuz they are pussies) and the coach of the flyers is my friends uncle so Go Flyers! i hope crosby gets laid the fuck out and can never play hockey again, what a bitch

another Bruins Flyers series would be a lot of fun to watch...and i reall hope the finals are the same as last year, Bruins canucks 2.0...i just wanna watch the bruins beat them up again...canucks play the most pussy style of hockey ever, its literally a disgrace to the game how they play

Radulov is an incredible talent to watch! and Rinne is a freak. Detroit will be tough but Preds got home ice, so i think it will tip in their favor. an injury or two will spell disaster for either team. Watch out for Brickwall, i mean Kronwall...

yeah i mean datsyuk is sick, not denying that

but the red wings just play such a fucking boring style of hockey, i dont udnerstand how their fans can seriously watch 82 of those games in a season...and they never fuckign hit

thank god im a bruins fan and we play physical hockey and our team literally thrives on fighting and hitting and physical play...if the Bruins are playing real physical we will probly win 9 out of 10 times...its out biggest strength

Jake Voracek would beg to differ

And yeah I'm a Flyers fan, so like the Bruins, I'm all about physical style of play. You beat your opponent into the ground and then score on them. I think only the Bruins and Flyers have ever had a team style. No matter what the year, who plays, what the rest of the league is doing. The Big Bad Bruins and Broad Street Bullys will ALWAYS be the way these teams play. Even a player who people wouldn''t associate with that style of play (Seguin, Briere) will turn into a more physical, tough, and gritty players once they become a part of that team.

eh, the physically aspect of hockey is deff a great factor, but it isnt the strongest.. finesse and calmness, and your situational awareness of whose around you in which direction is what icehockey is about.. along with skill set. physicality isnt the most important
