So, why isn't this on ze first page?
No more required out of game study to avoid making a broken character. No more 2 skills that are useful while the others become entirely worthless in the endgame. More item variety. More skill variety. Cosmetic item coloration. Crafting. No more constantly fighting a broken system to chug potions. Characters are very unique.
My head asplode. I want this game. I tried to buy time playing Torchlight, but I just got so fed up with the fact that because I didn't look up the skills that would stay useful my character was hopelessly gimped in the endgame; even though I chose only a few skills and carefully planned my attributes.

I'm going WD. I'll use summons to get there, but ultimately I'm going to abuse Haunt+Horrify.

Which is one of the things I'm really excited about: I have been skimming builds, and basically nobody is looking at the character the same way I am. Everybody wants to use his pets, but what I am seeing is a set of very, very abusable AOE/DOT skills. This is going to be fucking brutal in PvP, and combos of skills like this are honestly why PvP isn't at release. because they'll need to nerf some of this to prevent me from just instagibbing players - and all the characters will have builds like that.
Granted, the specifics of this are all up on the air because I don't know how much mana I will actually have available, how quickly the regen will really help me, etc, etc. Just lots of nuances.
But the basic theory goes max damage in one pop then run and rinse/repeat:
Passive:
Pierce the Veil = +20% damage, 30% costs.
Spiritual Attunement = +20% total mana pool, +1% mana pool/sec
Vision Quest = while 4 cooldowns, 300% mana regen
It's been confirmed that these stack. So 10 seconds of Quest makes for 30% of your pool returned if you carry both.
1.) Approach group -> pop Searing Locust / Corpse Bomb
478 mana cost (for both).
561% weapon damage fire over 8s; multiple targets (they bounce) / %200 weapon damage aoe = %761 weapon damage
Not sure if the runes include the base attribute or replace, if they do +360/175 more
2.) As they try to close the gap for their attack -> Umbral Shock directly into them
That's a 2 second Spirit-Walk where you pass through any enemies, allowing you to penetrate a crowd
When you exit, +102% weapon damage fire in 10 meters
3.) Before they can get a second tap on you, Horrify with Frightening Aspect
All enemies within 12 yards freak the fuck out and run around like ninnies for 4 seconds
This flat doubles my armor rating for eight seconds.
4.) Soul Harvest. A few options here worth noting:
Siphon = 10,855 hp and 650 INT for 30 seconds(if 5 enemies are within 16 yards)
Vengeful Spirit = +91% damage to those enemies
Languish = enemies slow 60% for 3 seconds
5.) Mass Confusion, Paranoia
An AOE, causes some enemies to fight for you for 12 seconds
More useful, all the enemies hit take 20% additional damage for 12 seconds.
2-5 are to be executed in less than five seconds. The remaining ~9-11 second cooldown is going to buy me enough mana to pop Locust Swarm and Acid again, except this time my INT has nearly doubled and the enemies are all taking an additional 20% damage on top of the 20% I already do with my passive. At this point I can't even accurately guess what the impact of this will be, but my guess is that very, very few enemies will survive it. Assuming I can use Horrify, Mass Confusion, and Soul harvest to temporarily prevent enemies from killing me, I'll be prepared to drop between one and two metric fucktons of damage on them. Also, they will be busy killing each other.
Hopefully, the damage will be so extensive I can just walk out of the big hole I just blasted in the side of whatever group was unlucky enough to look at me the wrong way. If there are still fatties int he way, the first skill I used it also the most useful for getting away, I just walk right through them and hope I don't die.
I write this out because I haven't seen anybody else suggest such an insane thing yet. Everybody else is all reasonable and balanced
Keeping in mind Mass Confusion will be my "ultimate" and only usable every 45 seconds. So I will be doing dives that often, and the rest of the time kiting to the best of my ability and dropping the other skills outside the enemy horde.

I've played through the beta...I ended up making one of each class. They are all really cool, and with the way the game works, you pretty much only need to make one character for each class.
I'm generally not the barbarian-playing type, but the D3 barbarian is one of my favorite classes. I went with male barbarian because the female one looks kinda 
I'm still not sure if I'm going to get the game or not, because it is sure to be addictive, and it's not a question of whether or not I will enjoy it, it's a question of whether or not I want to participate in this particular time-waster. I probably will

Not really, I just read through one class's skills for curiosity sake. The other four are still a mystery to me. I also haven't seen any spoilers, just the beta. I don't have a beta, I have a friend who let me play his twice. It's only an hour of gameplay or so.
